That '09 commercial really made me dread the inevitable day when actors from my childhood get trotted out to inform me how I can get my social security checks in the mail (if it's still around that is). Oh man, Ug died? :( I knew going in that this episode would discuss the behind the scenes drama. Patty Duke ties with Jay North for one of the most horribly abused child actors of the "golden age" of TV. Even if her marriage was terrible, I'm glad she at least used it to get the Rosses banned from the set. As far as I know Jay's abusers got away with EVERYTHING. Yay, Fred Penner's up next! People like sisters father, my moms past boyfriends, students/principals/supertendant of my 2nd school district, and managers of crappy jobs that I had have all been guilty of abuse in some way in my life. Amazing what she was able to accomplish despite all the hardships life and others tossed at her. I know the show might not seem so interesting, but I liked it a lot. A slew of my favorite shows just dont seem to have stood the test of time with later generations (which funny because they're from the generation prior to mine, but favs of mine since childhood). Patty Duke, Donna Reed, Hazel, Leave it to Beaver, Bachelor Father, Ozzy and Harriet and dozens more were responsible for a lot of happy moments. They had me laughing and invested just like their writers planned, but it was also because it was like visiting a favorite aunt who lives in a peaceful town.

When I saw the whole disclaimer at the beginning I thought "Uh Oh! This isn't going to be a happy episode for Nick Knacks but since I knew about all that happened to her growing up I could understand you giving the back story to people who either hadn't heard about it or ones who hadn't ever seen or known about this particular sitcom from the 60's. Now I will say I did enjoy watching the show growing up when it aired on both blocks. Nick and Nick @ Nite. I was into the older black & white shows that aired on Nick and Nick @ Nite. This being one of them. I do understand that someone who didn't grow up on this show or watched it during their child into teen years could see it as boring. Most of my friends (which I have said before on these videos) didn't care for them cause they were in black and white. Also I don't see anything wrong with a certain network airing shows that might of had problems behind the scenes with the actors or child stars. Now I don't like to hear about child actors being abused or not having a childhood due to the parents or their agents not letting them have a life. It's really does discuss me. Nothing should EVER harm a child no matter what. It sucks to hear about that stuff. Thanks for another good Nick Knack episode. I did enjoy most of it. Now I CAN'T wait to see the Fred Penner's Place episode.

Like some people have mentioned on this channel, I first learned about this show from Bloaty and Squirmy on "Rocko's Modern Life".

Why do you keep saying "The Patty Du Show"? You keep cutting out the K. It's very weird. Add that to your "exscape" speech impediment, and I'm very confused.

I think I heard "get quick rich" in there, too.

So Patty Duke is somehow related to a virgin from Toledo who owns 5 Wii Us, Sonic Jam, way too many copies of FlingSmash and Wii Play, considers Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast as a game repel virginity, is friends with a Target employee, a guy who hates sex, a guy who likes Gex, and a vegan and owns EVERY SINGLE VERSION of Madden 08.

You know that Patty Duke is the mother of Sean Austin, he started in this bad movie called Hero Mode, which features a cameo by Scott Wozniak aka Scott the Woz and all the words above are references various Scott the Woz characters (Wendy’s/Target employee, Rex Mohs and Jeb Jab) and lore. He’s a KZbinr you have been making videos since 2006, but the current show about subjects relating to video games started in 2017, on the show, he plays a virgin who loves “stupid Nintendo games” but he do play other consoles, you can watch him on KZbin or edited hour-long versions on G4.
