Did anyone else notice that just after the 18:10 point, when Martin Lane opens his newspaper to read his editorial to the family... THERE IS NO PRINTING ON THE PAPER; not a headline, photo or columns of text, on either side (which can be seen when he flips down the top to "read" the editorial supposedly situated lower on the page). Isn't that odd? Were they forced to use rehearsal material for this portion, or was TV reception at the time thought to be so low, no one would notice it? Strange indeed.

Hard to believe Patty was married when playing a teenager on this show. She got married 2 yrs after the show started and it was on for several years. She just looked young and was petite.

Martin is so incredibly dense and insensitive I could kick him.... Richard too, instead of helping Patty, he makes more demands from her and shows zero sympathy when she is exhausted. I guess back then they thought irritating characters were funny. I like Shallert though, he seemed liked a really nice person.
