You know I've been wondering. Could it be intentional that Mr Krabs specifically married a whale? "Whales" are often referred to as people with lots of money to spend. Just wondering if the creators of Spongebob consciously chose that specific animal as a joke on Krabs' greedy side.

That makes a lot of sense. It could be that Pearl was from a previous father and Mr. Krabs married Pearl’s mom after he previous relationship. Krabs then adopting Pearl as his step-daughter. The reason why Pearl’s mom is absent is either she is dead or she divorced him. Krabs having the money to have custody of Pearl. Hence, why Pearl is pretty spoiled.

according to Alex Bale, Mr. Krabs killed Pearl's mom during the war mentioned in Krusty Krab Training Video which states that he was in a deep depression after it. Bale states that the war was fought between the fish evolved by Neptune and the regular fish so not a war like of human history but a evolutionary one. this also explains how Bikini Bottom gets it's meat from similar to humans getting meat from farm raised livestock or by hunting that isn't for sport.

Here’s another theory. Stephen Hillenburg also did mention that the secret formula had NO meat. So, probably the Jail Cellmate (Pearl’s Father) KILLED Pearl’s mother, landing him a lifetime sentence in prison. He broke out since he wanted to break out and along the way, help Plankton steal the most guarded secret formula.

I've always assumed that Mr. Krab adopted Pearl because it is in fact PEARL who owns the vast majority of Mr. Krabs wealth, via her mother/ father. Mr. Krabs is only custodian of the money while Pearl is still a minor. THAT'S why Pearl seems to be the only person who Mr. Krabs actually has to give into sometimes when it comes to matters of money. He know that, unless he keeps Pearl liking him, as soon as she turn 18 (which will be in literally 1-2 years) she's outta there, and she takes all of the money with her. It isn't so much that Mr. Krabs is Pearl's sugar Daddy as that Pearl is Mr. Crabs Sugar Daughter. That also might explain Pearls reaction at Mr. Krabs hypothetical funeral, if he dies, Pearl may get HIS money as well (since he has no younger relatives)

That'd be too deep for modern Spongebob. Old Spongebob could have done it, because it touched on adult themes, which were actually entertaining for older kids up to people our own age, but not anymore. Now, the show is little more than fodder for the half-hearted entertainment of toddlers who probably don't even have the energy to care about it. And frankly, I don't either.

I have a question about the pearl's mom is krabby Patties: If Pearl's mom is the krabby Patty, how come, in episode friend or foe, we see a flashback to when krabs plankton were kids, made the krabby Patty? I mean, pearl's mom wouldn't be big enough to make a lifetime supply of patties. In the episode, we see that the krabby Patty was discovered by random ingredients falling off the shelf.

But , Mr. Krabs and Plankton had a falling out in their youth over restaurant and food disagreements. Long before Pearl was ever a thought. So, due to chronological disparities, the secret ingredient has to be multiple things, perhaps Pearl's mom amongst them but unlikely to be the sole component of the delicious formuler . Just saying. There are a few problems I have with the first theory 1: if Friend or Foe is canon, the recipe was made before Pearl's Mother was hunted 2: If Friend or Foe isn't canon, Mr. Krabs says the Krabby Patty is a FAMILY recipe, why would someone like his mother or Grandpappy Krabs, or even further back, have killed the mother, but keep the child? 3: If Krabs says "Mother of Pearl" because of his trauma, why would he relive it by killing Pearl? And for the last theory, there is an episode where we see a photo of Mr. Krabs with a baby Pearl, why would Mr. Krabs start dating the child he raised since she was a baby? Theory 2 is solid tho, no flaws there

I thought what this was getting at at first is that he married Pearl's mom and took in her daughter but killed her through either murder or negligence as part of an insurance scheme or because he was the prime beneficiary in her will but couldn't find it in his heart to do the same to Pearl. At least that'd make a lick of sense with Krabs' character. All of the 'evidence' for this theory is purely stylistic to either make things more nautical or nonsensical. The patty vault is a one-off gag that we never see again and it's shown that they continuously need to make new batches of patties. Sea cows also exist in the Spongebob universe as a fill-in for land cows and are most likely the source that all burgers, like Krabby Patties and Stinky Burgers, and other fill-ins for beef based foods are made of. 'Mother of Pearl' is supposed to be like 'mother of god/jesus' but also mother of pearl as in the shiny stuff that lines the inside of clam and oyster shells. And how do we know that Pearl isn't an in-universe religious figure that the Pearl we're familiar with is named after? Or that Krabs doesn't have enough interest in pearls that he'd name a kid after them? The picture of a whale in Krabs' house is clearly a painting because it's so simple and how would you even get a shot like that? At the right distance right at the perfect moment, and halfway underwater so you can even see the lower part of the whale. And the whistle by his door is a boat whistle that's supposed to be a doorbell like how Spongebob's alarm clock is a foghorn. In 'Sailor Mouth,' Krabs shows that he himself has a sailor mouth by swearing up a storm that shocks even Spongebob and Patrick when he stubs his toe, so he can't be that opposed to the sounds themselves but he tells the two not to say swear words as a fatherly figure. Krabs clearly has pretty fatherly instincts as he often plays a fatherly role to Spongebob and even calls him 'me boy' and is a sucker for caring for things. He had a pet worm named Mr. Doodles that appeared in a few episodes that he seemed to like, he took care of a scallop and was remorseful about having to let it go free and he holds sentimental value for loads of things that he doesn't gain money from. And is going the extra mile to make his girl happy and feel special and beautiful really gonna be that lucrative for him in the end as opposed to just letting her cry or be a bit disappointed? Could he even break even on the millions he spent on her let alone get away with it? And why do all sperm whales have to be related? Can't the whale up on Pearl's bed be a young surfer guy from TV or a band that Pearl thinks is cute? And the whale cellmate I guess could be Pearl's dad despite not looking as much like Pearl as Krabs', Squidward, and Patrick's parents do to them, but he could just be a scallawag who never cleaned up his act after leaving the navy and left his kid with his navy buddy, Krabs for whatever reason. Or Krabs got with his wife while he was out at sea and that somehow ended with him having custody of their kid.. I guess the sugar daddy thing could technically work but it's pretty creepy that he's had her since she was just born if it's the case. And hooked her up with his employee to go to a dance. And it's just a common thing, at least in shows for spoiled teenage girls to call their dad 'daddy' when they want something out of them. I think that might even be where the whole sugar daddy thing comes from in the first place. And were sugar daddies like, even a thing when the first Pearl episode or few were aired? It seems like a pretty recent thing, at least, recent to come out of a nasty back alley and into the public conscious.

I have a theory, maybe Pearl’s actual father is serving life in prison for murder. We never see Pear’s mother in the show. Although Pearl calling Mr. Krabs daddy might actually be that she was really young at the time of the murder. Cause we see a whale in a Jail cell. Could that whale be Pearl’s actual father? Maybe Mr Krabs adopted Pearl from an orphanage cause of the incident. Besides, Krabs is a crab and Pearl is a whale.

I have a theory about this but its slightly different the theory is that Pearls dad (whale cellmate) murdered Pearls mom and then Pearl went into an adoption center were Mr. Crabs adopted her and that could be why whale cellmate is in prison and Pearl is with Mr. Crabs.

I have another theory for this, if you remember watching episode 1 of season 5, we will have a story about Mr krabs and plankton making a burger, it didn’t go well since they opened the restaurant in a dump. (they’re secret hideout) after they saw old man Jenkins in the dump as well, they asked if he would try the burger, they did so bad that they poisoned Jenkins, plankton and krabs fight because they blamed eachother for putting in more ingredients than they should, after squabbling, plankton barges his way out and a bunch of bottles fall into a meat pot that krabs and plankton were using to probably make a burger, after mr krabs tries it to see if kids would eat it, he thought it was perfect, but what is possible is that pearls mom might be the meat inside of the pot, and krabs killed her at a young age, Cinian, I will make a possible video out of this or you can take this as an extra to h pearl theory, no need to, just requesting.

I have a theory for a while that Mr. Krabs married Pearl's mother (who was probably wealthy) for her money, only to discover, upon her death she had willed everything to Pearl. Mr. Krabs is the custodian of the money until Pearl turns 18 (which, given she's at least 17+ at this point, is REALLY soon)., but at that point, he's SOL unless she CHOOSES to let him keep using it. THAT'S why he sometimes has to fold to her with regards to her wishes, it's the only chance he has to keep most of his current fortune.

New Mr Krabs loves money more than Pearl and can be neglectful but does still care about her While new Mr Crabs was willing to give away his business, his pride, and His MONEY just so he can make his daughter happy in Pearl's first appearance. Even though Pearl doesn't actually want those things Mr Krabs is still willing to blindly throw all those away just to do what he thinks makes her daughter happy.

i recall hearing this theory years ago, and i've stuck by it. Really well done video. Even if the patty had no meat, could be blubber or somethin? Definitely Mother of Pearl is the secret ingredient in my opinion. Only other idea that seems plausible is crab meat..... How many other crabs around Bikini Bottom do we see? And his restaurant is literally a crab trap.... Regardless, Krabs is a killer for sure 100% $$$
