We discontinued the smokestack, there were so many popping up on amazon for so much cheaper than we could offer it.

I purchased the whole lot for my pitboss 820fb....i love it....it does not run within the 10°+/- I have learned where to set it to maintain the temp I want...only about 30° or so off...not nit pickin...i love it...if you don't have it get it...you won't be sorry....no wild temp swings or flame outs like before.... I do suggest you buy the whole upgrade kit as the pitboss fan and auger are just not up to par. Denis keep up the good work sir.

You should be able to 3D print mount for the controller as long as you use a good high temperature filament like ABS or better.

Correct me if I'm wrong, since heat and smoke rises, wouldnt you want the chimney to be mounted LOWER on the box so that smoke has an opportunity to fully fill the box before it escapes thru the chimney?

The fire pot is in the middle and the sear plate directs the heat and smoke towards the hopper, then the smoke moves across the grate area and finally out the chimney. The top of the chimney can also be adjust to restrict air flow to keep more smoke in the grill also.

Heat does not rise . Heat goes to a cooler place IE the meat . The first place it will go is the meat

also, I really like this controller but it seems to me that you should be able to make one that lies horizontal so we dont have to jerry-rig or cut the smoker... I might want to sell the smoker and re-attach the original controller so I can keep the PID for another smoker, but if I do it the way you suggest here, I have permanently damaged the smoker

Would this controller regulate the wood fire box of a pit I made myself? I need a blower for the firebox to modulate thus regulating the fire temp in the smoker. Thanks

Q: will this controller provide a better control of temp on my small Pitt Boss ? I Can't begin to hold a set temp within 30-50F currently in the summer. Could only get worse in colder temps.
