Bold prediction: The final shot of The Penguin season one will be Oz Cobb looking out at Gotham, seeing the Bat-Signal glowing in the night sky. Oz may have defeated his enemies, but he hasn’t beaten his biggest foe. Oz thinks he’s sitting on top of the world, but he’s about to get a rude awakening. Guess who’s back? It bookends the beginning and the end of this terrific series.

@@jaredrubin7843 Nothing has been confirmed. Lauren LeFranc is hinting at a second season, but Colin Farrell says he's reluctant to come back. That isn't a "no", so it could just be a play for more money.

@@recoil53 google it. they did. 2 seasons. SOPRANOS WAS NOT GONNA BE 8E 8 SEASONS. BUT IT WAS SO GREAT, HBO HAD NO CHOICE. IT WAS SO SUCESSFUL. IT MADE SO MUCH MONEY FOR THEM. 8 YEARS OF the ist show ever that took an anti-heroe, and made him out so we could root for him. NOW LOOK AT ALL THESE ANTI-HERO SHOWS AND MOVIES. THE PENGUIN IS THE SAME EXACT THING. VENOM, SUICIDE SQUAD, HARLEY QUINN, JOKER, & TONS MORE. I USE TO LOVE DEXTER ALSO. ANOTHER HBO FANTASTIC SHOW. THAT ORIGINAL DEXTER SERIES WAS A TON OF SEASONS AS WELL. so its a sure thing its gonna keep THE PENGUIN SERIES GOING

@@recoil53 Ideally, this should just be a single season program. They should continue the story in the movies. I think this series will outstay its welcome if it drags on for longer than a single season.

@@ziggy8253 Part II (of the Batman) is already written and I imagine LeFranc has some idea of how it goes. A comment like her's doesn't make sense if it is a bad fit. If it's a late 2026 release, a season 2 might even make sense. The Penguin is supposed to show up in the sequel, but that doesn't mean he's the main opponent. In fact, that rumor could just be piggybacking off the popularity of this show. Batman has a lot of canon enemies, so it could be anybody. If it isn't Oz, I'd like a season 2, to flesh out the world.

His mom is not gonna make it. I think Vic is gonna try to save her but fail, and Oz might get rid of him out of hurt and anger. I don't want to see Vic end up like Oz

@@talonmage40k Vic has been essentially mirroring Oz's own path in the criminal world. Killing Vic (because his mom is what keeps Oz good) is the final step in going from crime boss to Super Villain.

When Oz said something to the effect of his mother is what keeps him good, that sealed her fate. Oz watching the Maronis burn was the seeds of becoming a super villain. Oz's mother dying will be what pushes him over the edge. I predict in episode 7 "Top Hat". That's when he becomes The Penguin. One quibble, I think when it's when Oz sees the subway token he comes up with the idea of growing mushrooms there, not when he actually gets there. He just goes there to confirm it's right. Up until then, he's out of moves and feels like he lost. Then when he sees it's right and thinks of the possibilities, he knows he has another move to make.

I have a theory that Victor is going to be Robin. Hear me out, realistically Batman wouldnt or shouldnt have young kids fight crime with him, but a criminal mastermind knows the value of a trusted young kid. They might be adapting Robin in this universe as a criminal sidekick to the Penguin, Jason Todd tried to steal Wheels from the Batmobile. Victor tried to steal wheels from Penguin's Plum Car

I think he'll follow Vic into the building, Oz's mom gets killed in the fighting, Oz makes him die slow. Unless Oz's temper gets a hold of him then Squid just gets an Uzi emptied into him.

Episode 7 "Top Hat" is my guess. Killing the Maronis and watching them die was step one. His mother dying and Oz just going apesh!t is step two. Remember that she is his anchor to some morality. I think killing Vic, somewhat a mirror to his younger self, is the final step.

Yes, IRL it would be full of people. It's true in every city that has an extensive underground system, from the Catacombs of Paris to the sewers of Las Vegas. Really some old industrial buildings would be enough to grow the mushrooms. It's done IRL because the thick concrete walls of some buildings are good at holding in heat. But that wouldn't give Oz a secret road system.

@talonmage40k you hear the Dr say her name. Then he comes into shot with the guard, closing the door. I think it's the guard who calls her, but her mind is creating this Dr. Either he was real, and she killed him. Or her mind invented him as a coping mechanism whilst she was in Arkham.

I'm pretty sure Batman disappeared to reevaluate what he was doing after the first film because The Riddler was directly inspired by Batman's vigilantism which Bruce did not want to be the message people got from The Batman.

Hmm why do you think Sophia is a better person than Oz? They both have gone through horrible experiences and come out the other end as jaded and terrible human beings. Main difference is that we get to see Sophia go from a pampered mafia daughter to a torture victim while Oz's horrible and probably extremely violent upbringing is in the past.. and let's not forget that Oz probably spent decades working for the family as a good soldier and was still being treated like a joke, something even the younger Sophia uses against him. Not saying Oz is a good person, but it's clear that he has had to fight for everything in life where as Sophia, up untill the horrific imprisonment, was handed everything on a silver platter

@@MaMastoast No. Sophia was a victim of her father right from the beginnig, she just realised it now. Sophia was betrayed by her father, by Oz and her whole family. She stood up for Oz multiple times when he was her driver. No one stood up for her when she was about to be incarcerated, she also said that she knew it wouldn't matter if they did but expected atleast someone. And I know many people like Oz. untrustworthy, conniving, manipulative, they will stab you in the back with no hesitation if given the chance. These type of people are less than human.

@@MaMastoast That's what he keeps repeating to Vic and it's a common theme - people like him had to fight for everything they got, every step of the way. The other theme, what he said to Alberto and it's in the trailer - wouldn't it be great to be the guy who takes care of the neighborhood people. To have the respect and love. Oz hasn't just been a soldier for the Falcones, he's running one of their big money making operations - Drops. He was running the boss' base. They still talk down to him.

The Penguin is a terribly written show. Yes very good acting from all but the writing is awful. It's woke, it's contrived, it's ridiculous and ALL THE CHARACTERS lack good morals. The only villain should be Oz, but he disappears if all the characters in the series are douche bags. Hollywood wants to keep blurring the lines between good and evil and this is becoming a huge problem.
