When Oz's Mom is talking to Rex Calabrese, he tells her that the most loyal and easiest to recruit men are the one's that need a father figure. That's what Oz did with Vic. He nurtured a fatherly relationship with him to keep him close, then threw him away like garbage in the end.

I wish they hadn't written out Sal Maroni because I thought Clancy Brown did such a good job in that role. Selfishly, I wanted to see more of him in that world later on. How they did write him out, I thought was decent though.

Just finished the show and I think this is a good example of "how it's done." None of the usual TV drama bullstuff, no cheating, no noodling around while you spend thirty six episodes trying to find your story. It's fantastic just how well you understand the characters and how consistently well-realized they are. I think they've done a fine job of setting up another Batman movie but probably not an S2. Once we really get to know who Oz is, we don't want to spend another season with him. The finale was haunting.

Aside for the "Batman seems very busy" aspect, there's a point in the show where they have introduced like 3-4 batches of characters and they all die within 2-3 episodes, where it starts feeling a bit silly or... rushed? Like if this was the Sopranos or Breaking Bad it would be 2-3 seasons of 10-12 episodes each.

Like a concentrated dose of that Game of Throne realization where it goes from "Oh anyone could die, cool" to "No, this new side-character will also die next episode... or- *almost everyone* will die except Oz?" in the span of like 4-5 episodes.

This was a great show, I'm curious if they will do another season as they teased. It will probably include more Batman characters if the ending is anything to go by.

Im just glad season 1 wrapped up nicely at the end. Its a shame what happened, but at least if this ends up being the only season, itll never feel incomplete.

The only flaw I had with this show is that the penguin was portrayed as this tough guy who can beat the crap out of anyone , a guy with a limp lol he beat up and killed Sal moroni, idk how that’s physically possible but other than that, amazing show

I couldn't get into because early on the show made me realize something. I don't really care that much about the characters or the universe. The Batman was really good and the Penguin was good in that. But honestly that's all I really needed. I didn't need the show. It's cool people like it though. Just not for me.

@@RedCowArcadeYep. If I remember correctly they complained it had too much betrayal. Gee, a mafia show with betrayal, next they’ll tell me water is wet. lol. Plus, even though I don’t think it was WB’s intention, cause Penguin came out so close to Agatha All Along, the media pitted the shows against each other. Fans thought Penguin was superior while the media sided with Agatha & Disney.

The show fell off for me gradually as it went on. The first episode felt like a film but it felt cheaper and cheaper as it went on, since we’re talking spoilers I didn’t like how they retconned Sofia’s backstory and made her not The Hangman, and everything with Oz’s mom was super predictable, as was the very ending. I don’t care to see Sofia Falcone be part of the next film.
