Wow I'm really impressed by this vlog! You're a great presenter! Gioji Temple is one of my favourite spots too. I also appreciate the Dragonball and Pokemon references.

Great video, Alyssa! All your videos really make me miss Japan. I've only been able to visit Kyoto once on previous visits. But after your video, I definitely will be spending more time in Kyoto in the future, and checking out your recommendations.

The train to Arashiyama might be a better choice (next time!) You can take it from Shijo/Kawaramachi, with just one transfer at Katsura.

Having been to Kyoto 4 times now, this is a very good 3 day itinerary and i have NEVER seen Kiyomizu dera that empty…I went at 5pm last April and it was shoulder to shoulder with people.

@19:00 if you get another chance to visit fushimi inari taisha, make it a night visit to avoid the crowds and give it a creepy otherworldly feel, while next to the safety of a city :p

I visited last year during January / February and loved how quiet and empty it was. Going this year during peak season and I'm really nervous about it so this is a great refresher on the highlights. thank you

I didn't know how good the view was when walking the shrine and was such a pleasant surprise as I had been told what the top was like.

Nice! My wife and I might be coming there in June. Heard June and July were the worst times to come, but they were the only times we had 😢. Hopefully the rain and heat mean less crowds. Thanks for the video!
@Lyssakay11 ай бұрын
Don't worry too much about coming in June or July! Even though Kyoto is not as empty as the winter months the summer is not nearly as crowded as spring and fall! Also if you are coming in summer you should look into going to Kibune! It is located up in the mountains and has river dining that is only available in the summer months! Honestly it's my favorite thing to do in Kyoto!

Hello from kyoto,Japan. In Shinto, an ancient Japanese religion, mountains are considered sacred places, not just places to hike, so there are many Shinto shrines in the mountains. The Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine you climbed is the headquarters of the popular Inari Taisha shrines that exist throughout Japan. It is more than just a hiking spot, as Shinto deities are believed to reside beyond the torii gate. Historically, the shrine of rice has become "rice bears" → "does not starve" → "prosperous business" and is still an important shrine that many people from all over Japan visit to pray.

Kyoto is always warmer because of the dragon underneath. Maybe there's no dragon and maybe it's not always warmer. Amazing trick, you got both..said margarita . I know maybe it wasn't a trick. River runs but you stay, sometime but not always.
