booooo. I got a build using a 2080 super and ryzen 7 3700x for 1600-1700. idk why he is suggesting a 2070 super for the "game on" build. if you're paying 2000 dollars you should be getting a 2080 ti. after all that's how much I would have paid if I went with a 2080 ti instead of a 2080 super. edit: no wonder he cant afford a 2080 series card, he spent 400 dollars on a 2 tb ssd. make it a 1 tb ssd, make the ram 16 GB, and upgrade to a 2080 super or 2080 ti.

It blows my mind that you can build a computer in 2019, for less than $1000, that can out perform the $2000 PC that I built in 2014. I know that it shouldn’t since that was 5 years ago, but the competition that AMD has brought to Intel has been so good for the market. It really is a great year to build a PC.

I want to share my current PC build. My current PC build took me a month to aquire all the parts, because I wanted to find the best deals possible. I only spent a little over $300. A majority of the parts are used, but I got great deals on them. The GTX 1060 3GB OC Edition only cost me $97 and it works beautifully. My PSU is an EVGA 500B Power Supply, which only cost me about $40 and still smelled brand new when I received it. My CPU, which only cost a whopping $40 from someone who just upgraded, is an AMD FX-8350. My RAM is Kingston HyperX Fury which cost me about $25 for the set. My motherboard is an ASUS M5A78I-M Plus, which only cost me $40 for a new one. I got a Samsung 500GB SSD for about $45 (I bought the SSD a while after finishing the build), and I used a 1TB HDD I already had. I bought a WiFi/Bluetooth card for $17. And finally, my chassis is a DeepCool Tesseract SW, for about $55.

I attempted to do something like the $300 build for my sons first gaming PC, but could not help but upgrade a bit... I made some choices with an eye towards some future upgrades. More expensive case. I figured that the 4 fans that this case has would help out in the future, and my 13 yo son said that "it is not a gaming PC without RGB" so I suppose there is that. Everyone is at home because of COVID 19, and I think a lot of people would find some useful knowledge from you on what to look for. Also, a lot of people (kids) want to play games on there console, so they settle for their phone or a cheap laptop. That won't work whenever they need a computer to do all of their school work. Absolutely zero reason to build new pc under 1k cost unless you are absolutely sure you will only be playing pixel games, minecraft, fortnite, WoW, or whatever else you can think of that plays on a toaster. SPending less means you will want to replace it much sooner, and the cost per year goes higher. For example a 300 dollar pc is only good for a year. 500 is only maybe good for 2. However if you spend 1k you will have a pc that is good for 5 years. 850 would be a good target though but only if you were getting good sale prices.
@d3n10285 жыл бұрын
Ishmael Maphingers can I have whatever you ingested before making this comment? Bc that must be some damn good stuff for you to claim all that^
@JasonEllingsworth5 жыл бұрын
Binge Anime it's simple. A 700 dollar PC has a 250-300 dollar card in it. A 250-300 dollar gpu will only be good for playing at 1080p. Many people are already moving beyond 1080 to 2k and some even 4k. Therefore you are getting very little value out of your rig once you split the cost for the number of years your parts are actually relevant. And like I said if all you play is old shit and pixel games it's perfectly fine, but if you play the latest AAA games you will be wasting your money if you spend less than 800 bucks on a gaming pc
@snugglyjeff2145 жыл бұрын
Ishmael Maphingers I agree. I can see some people on a tight budget trying to defend their budget rig, but ultimately spending more now does in fact break the cost down more in your favor for the number of years your parts will be good for. Also there's resale value in higher end gpu's... Much more than something like a 1660 ti that made no sense even when it was brand new
