booooo. I got a build using a 2080 super and ryzen 7 3700x for 1600-1700. idk why he is suggesting a 2070 super for the "game on" build. if you're paying 2000 dollars you should be getting a 2080 ti. after all that's how much I would have paid if I went with a 2080 ti instead of a 2080 super. edit: no wonder he cant afford a 2080 series card, he spent 400 dollars on a 2 tb ssd. make it a 1 tb ssd, make the ram 16 GB, and upgrade to a 2080 super or 2080 ti.

It blows my mind that you can build a computer in 2019, for less than $1000, that can out perform the $2000 PC that I built in 2014. I know that it shouldn’t since that was 5 years ago, but the competition that AMD has brought to Intel has been so good for the market. It really is a great year to build a PC.

I want to share my current PC build. My current PC build took me a month to aquire all the parts, because I wanted to find the best deals possible. I only spent a little over $300. A majority of the parts are used, but I got great deals on them. The GTX 1060 3GB OC Edition only cost me $97 and it works beautifully. My PSU is an EVGA 500B Power Supply, which only cost me about $40 and still smelled brand new when I received it. My CPU, which only cost a whopping $40 from someone who just upgraded, is an AMD FX-8350. My RAM is Kingston HyperX Fury which cost me about $25 for the set. My motherboard is an ASUS M5A78I-M Plus, which only cost me $40 for a new one. I got a Samsung 500GB SSD for about $45 (I bought the SSD a while after finishing the build), and I used a 1TB HDD I already had. I bought a WiFi/Bluetooth card for $17. And finally, my chassis is a DeepCool Tesseract SW, for about $55.

That 2K$ build is indeed very wtf. What's the point of that overpriced MB when Asus and MSI offer same things 30 to 40$ cheaper, or the cooler, or the SSD! For a build that isn't specifically targeted for rendering, buying cutting edge MB/SSD combo to achieve those PCI-E 4 speeds is pointless, 2k$ budget should easily get you a 3700x/2080 Super combo. pcpartpicker.com/list/G7V9CL

The $300 USD PC is now $332.23 not including the price of the power supply (no price listed for it/out of stock) and not including the CPU, as the prices on them are too high to get reasonably. Not a super high jump, but still something to be aware of. I found the CPU for $129.99 on Amazon, and the power supply for $49.99+ on the corsair website, bringing the final price closer to $512.21 now.

I attempted to do something like the $300 build for my sons first gaming PC, but could not help but upgrade a bit... I made some choices with an eye towards some future upgrades. I was a PC gamer back in the day, but my last build had a Pentium III with their weird cartridge mount. Here is my parts list: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with cooler $79.99 Asrock B450M Pro Motherboard $79.99 G. Skill 2x8 GB DDR4 3200 RAM $69.99 PowerSpec 550 watt 80 plus bronze non modular power supply $49.99 inland 2.5" 256 GB SSD $32.99 Thermaltake V200 RGB Tempered Glass ATX Mid Case. $79.99 Total including tax at our local microcenter $416.52 My upgrades and why: Athlon 300G- Ryzen 3 3200G - It was on sale for 80, seems like an extra 30 well spent 450 vs 550 power supply - I figured it would be able to run a better processor and graphics card when we upgraded later 8 gb Ram vs 16 - To start, this gives us more room for the integrated graphics to have some of the RAM, long term more ram is better? and it was like $30. More expensive case. I figured that the 4 fans that this case has would help out in the future, and my 13 yo son said that "it is not a gaming PC without RGB" so I suppose there is that. Future Upgrade Path: 1 TB HDD Graphics card: something like the GTX 1650 in the 500 build. Processor: Maybe something like a Ryzen 5 3600?

Everyone is at home because of COVID 19, and I think a lot of people would find some useful knowledge from you on what to look for. Also, a lot of people (kids) want to play games on there console, so they settle for their phone or a cheap laptop. That won't work whenever they need a computer to do all of their school work. Plus all of the kids are hyped for the new Xbox and PlayStation, and buying both will break the parent's bank. Thanks for the informative videos, they helped me buy and build my first PC.

@@Bram71 make sure to use the tweakers forum and especially the pricewatch! You can set price alerts for components so you get a notification if it drops down to a certain orice, plus it'll tell you where you should order what if you have a list of parts to pay the least (and it even accounts for shipping costs!)

@@Bram71 i live in belgium, i bought my gpu used from someone in the netherlands, it can definitely help to buy used. Ive only bought the gpu used tho, the rest i bought off of (the also dutch) Megekko.nl, it had all the parts much cheaper there than the online retailers here did.

My price range is around $700. What should I upgrade in your just build, or even downgrade in your game now build?

Maybe I'm stupid... I haven't build a PC since 2010 or earlier and never did install a cooling system but the 280mm Corsair H115i PRO doesn't seen ti fit the NZXT H510. Maybe it would fit the NZXT H510 Elite but not this case. Did you manage to install yours properly in that case? Maybe you already had another one ;)

LV 426 kinda, I had to do some crazy things to the case in order to fit, but could not mount it normaly, so no it doesn’t fit under normal conditions

Not really. It would most likely feature a GTX 1660 Super, which is like the 1650 Super but slightly faster. Might as well save some money or spend a bit extra if you want more performance.

Absolutely zero reason to build new pc under 1k cost unless you are absolutely sure you will only be playing pixel games, minecraft, fortnite, WoW, or whatever else you can think of that plays on a toaster. SPending less means you will want to replace it much sooner, and the cost per year goes higher. For example a 300 dollar pc is only good for a year. 500 is only maybe good for 2. However if you spend 1k you will have a pc that is good for 5 years. 850 would be a good target though but only if you were getting good sale prices.

Binge Anime it's simple. A 700 dollar PC has a 250-300 dollar card in it. A 250-300 dollar gpu will only be good for playing at 1080p. Many people are already moving beyond 1080 to 2k and some even 4k. Therefore you are getting very little value out of your rig once you split the cost for the number of years your parts are actually relevant. And like I said if all you play is old shit and pixel games it's perfectly fine, but if you play the latest AAA games you will be wasting your money if you spend less than 800 bucks on a gaming pc

Ishmael Maphingers I agree. I can see some people on a tight budget trying to defend their budget rig, but ultimately spending more now does in fact break the cost down more in your favor for the number of years your parts will be good for. Also there's resale value in higher end gpu's... Much more than something like a 1660 ti that made no sense even when it was brand new
