The Perfect Emulsified Sugar Scrub (Revised) DIY Emulsified Sugar Scrub + Tutorial

Hello everyone! Almost two years ago, I posted my Perfect Emulsified Sugar Scrub video and tutorial and it has been a very popular video. It has also remained one of the most popular recipes and tutorials sought out on my patreon cmapaign. In today's video, I am showing you how I currently make this sugar scrub. Over the last two years, my technique and method has perfected and simplified. I also am answering some of the most commonly asked questions I get on this recipe. I think you are really going to like the revisions.

Sounds like a wonderful recipe. What is the ratio between the cold liquid oils and the melted butters and waxes? Also, does the 2 to 1 ratio between the sugar and oils/waxes make it extra thick and hard to spoon out after it has set after 24 hours? I don’t want mine to be so thick but I don’t want it to be sloppy either.

Hi there, thank you! This scrub is not really suitable for the lips because of the fragrance oil as well as the preservative. I am not sure about adding aloe vera gel to this recipe. I do have a few lip scrub videos here on my channel.

Hi there, no brown sugar will not work the same in this recipe. You can use brown sugar but you would need to formulate a new scrub recipe to get the appropriate ratios.

For this kind of scrub there is no need for an emulsifier and you would use a little less sugar.

Hi, in this recipe, the mica doesn't stain the tub. Perhaps because it is emulsified, it all goes down the drain cleanly.

Curious question... so I purchased and made a few sugar scrubs (not yours lol) and I've noticed that after I rinsed it off my body the smell is gone; any tricks or hacks to make sure that the smell of the scrub stays on my body.

Hi, if they are emulsified, the fragrance will rinse off your body. Sugar scrubs with less emulsion (more oily) will stick onto your skin as they will have less rinse off properties.

It’s not a foaming base , to make it foaming you will need a surfactant
