For the free weight part of the exam, how do you know which weight level to start with? You started with a 40kg for the deadlift here, but we wont know what our students 1RM is (and thank you for this video. Really helpful)
@CreatePT Жыл бұрын
Hi, glad the video was helpful! The weight you start at is all down to what you know about your client. If you have carried out a thorough consultation and they're experienced enough with lifting to know their 1RM then you can go off that. But if they're new to the gym you'll be building the weight gradually in line with what they're comfortable with. Start with an empty bar and gradually add weight.

Hi Chris, currently doing my level 2, did you pass your assessment?

@@scottconnorzzzzz hello 😁 yes I did made a few mistakes but still managed to pass which I'm pleased about, just need to finish my level 3 now! How are u getting on with your level 2?

@@chrisbown317 congratulations on passing 👍 If I’m honest I am struggling, I passed my coursework, passed my physiology exam now have to self record my client consultation, then self record my 1-1, then it’s self evaluation, then I have to complete a self recorded 1-3 induction.

Hi, is there a recommended number of sets/reps you should do for the strength component? Thanks!
@CreatePT2 ай бұрын
It is dependent on your clients goals. If they are a beginner then higher "endurance" rep ranges would be suitable, if they have a strength goal and are more experienced in the gym then a lower rep range of 1-5 would be suitable. The information you gather in the consultation should guide the programme you write for the client so it is personalised to them.

Can I ask what your main tips are for the assessment? i’m being to panic as they don’t give much away with what you might be walking into!
@CreatePT Жыл бұрын
Hi Ally, strange they haven't given you much insight into what the assessment will include. Some general guidance: Try and be as relaxed/natural as possible and build a rapport with your client Remember to use the nasty principle for every exercise. Reinforce key teaching points and tell your client how well they are doing. If you can see a technique flaw, don’t be afraid to make adjustments

I had to name muscles being used for each exercise on my level two assessment ?
@CreatePT Жыл бұрын
Hi Robert sorry for the late reply, missed your comment. You don't need to name every individual muscle, the client doesn't care if you're working the anterior deltoid, or the gastrocnemius. Just using generic terms like leg muscles or core etc is enough

the providers of the course im doing don't allow cuts or edits in my video assesment - is this common?
@CreatePT2 ай бұрын
It is a requirement of the awarding organisations to film it as one continuous video so all training providers like ourselves will require that yes. If the video is then too difficult to upload as one large file then we do allow breaking up the video into smaller files for upload as long as it is obvious that it was originally filmed as one continuous video. Hope this helps

for the free weight exercises do you need to do 2 free weight exercises then another 2 free weight exercises that require spotting or is it just 2 exercises?
@CreatePT2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tilly, for the level 2 one to one induction you don't actually have to do any free weight exercises if it's not suitable for the client you've written the programme for. Ideally you'd have a mixture of resistance machines and free weights but you want it to be suitable for your client. The group induction does require 1 free weight exercise that is spotted and 1 has to showcase lifting the weights safely from the floor.

Hi, does this apply to the level 2 RQF fitness instructor award by focus awards ?
@CreatePT8 ай бұрын
Hi, yes absolutely. The RQF set by awarding bodies is regulated by OFQUAL, so they all have to meet the same standard. This satisfies all criteria for OFQUAL.

how long should the main CV component last from building up to 5 rpe and then gradually up to 7 rpe. How many minutes?
@CreatePT Жыл бұрын
The main CV component should be around 20 mins long, the first 2-3 mins gradually build up to around 5 RPE, then around 15 mins of maintaining an RPE of between 6-8, followed by another 2-3 mins of cooling back down to an RPE of around 3.

@@CreatePT Also is it okay to use a manual treadmill for assessment one that is dictated by the pace of the individual you don't press buttons the pace is set by you and your stride. The gym i'm doing the assessment on'y has treadmills like this not any with buttons which adjust pace.

Too much talking to him while he running. Good run is to concentrate and take control of your breathing. Not listening someone and trying to hear what he telling you.
@CreatePT Жыл бұрын
The treadmill was used as part of the warmup in this session, taking the client up to an RPE of 5 which for most people should be easy enough to continue talking. We'd recommend using the time during the warmup to continue building rapport with your client rather than leaving them to run in silence.
