I cant get paint to flow threw my hi line with a .23 needle unless its tamiya model paint acrylics thinned with laquer thinner and evem then createx is garbage tamiya for models is 10% every color it worls great but jas to be a .35 or .5

To go through finer brushes I would suggest lowering your psi and over thinning your paint, it's harder to control at first but once you find that perfect ratio that works best for you, you will then be able to create ultra fine detail.

Is it just water you use to mix with the paint

Use the recomended reducer, thinner from the paint manufacturer to keep things simples.

I think each manufacturer has different thinners, although they may be very similar. Probably the same thing that’s in the paints but way thinner .. acrylic binders etc..

Some do but they have glycerol its in soap it breaks up the surface tension but they also put other stuff in them some acrylic paints lile tamiya are solvent based amd work good with x20 a alcohol based or better with lacquer thinner they make it depends

I would recommend that you use the manufacturer's reducer or thinner, otherwise you may find that water can break down the paint's viscosity and you may have issues with performance and drying, adhesion etc.
