A no break look is great in pictures, but I feel it looks really off during movement in real life. I find a half break to full break far better, and a much manlier, less dainty look.

Great video! My tailor offers pant length in no break, and also slight break & medium break, which corresponds to your quarter and half break. Personally I like medium break with my 5'9'' height.

Besides, If leg opening is wide, say, >8, I like half or full break instead of no or quarter break.

Thanks for watching, Jason. Good point that wider trousers look better with a half break rather than no break.

I’m 5’4 ,130lbs . Would you recommend 6.5 inch opening or 7 inch opening? Looking for more timeless and classic style ~ thank you
@Lukas_Schanderl2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. I think if you want to go for a more classic style, 7 inch should be ideal. Plus, you can always slim them down later at an alterations tailor, in case your taste changes.

Hello, when you said 1 inch either side of the thigh, does that mean, thigh circumference + 2 inches? Thank you
@Lukas_Schanderl2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching. It would be roughly your thigh circumference +4 inches (since the 1 inch fabric pinched is actually 2 inches). I actually went for +5 inches on some recent trousers and they fit very well.

@@Lukas_Schanderl I see, I might use this for my custom trouser. Thank you

I subscribe to AskOkey's theory on this subject.

I also think it fits very well on his frame.

@@Lukas_Schanderl It does. The width should roughly cover 2/3s of the shoe, for it to drape nicely. Heavier cloth/fabric also helps in this. I feel like today's suit is still inspired by the cut of the 50s/60s, but not like the 30s/80s like AskOkey.

Only middleaged men still wear slim fit. They’re also thinking about dyeing their hair.

The trouser is supposed to be 2/3rds of your shoes length meaning it is supposed to be wide pleated and cuffeda full cut, it doesn't look old fashioned men style has not evolved over years the current fashion I would consider it as a degeneration in style, classic mens fashion is good as it was 80 years ago a classic masterpiece
@Lukas_Schanderl2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. I totally agree. I think 2/3rd looks great, but 3/4 can start to look a bit too old-fashioned, at least in my opinion.

Lenght depends on the first wash.

You're right. That would have been a good addition to the video, especially when trousers fit just right in the store.
