As much as I watch Saturday Night Live, I don't even remember this sketch. I had to go and watch it. I had no idea that this was the origin of one of my favorite two partners of Fred Armisen and Bill Hader's Documentary Now series. I'm guessing you've already seen it but if you haven't, my boy have I got a great surprise for you. Gentle and Soft: the story of the Blue Jean Committee. It's a two-parter and it's probably one of my favorite things in the world. I'm pretty sure it's on Netflix. And thanks for making me aware of the origin.

Yeah I had no idea the Blue Jean Committee started as an SNL sketch but the BJC Documentary Now is just, it’s legendary comedy

It’s one of those weird Fred Armisen sketches, it’s a subtle slow burn and just “off” enough to be a good example of that era. Bobby Moynihan and Bill Hader are the gems of the sketch.

Friendly suggestion: leave out the half hour intro and just get to the subject. That's what people want to see.

SNL hasn’t bern funny since 2012 edit: 2010 because that Blue Jean skit is not funny. The Punk Rock Reunion is 100x better
