Take a close look at these two plants, we took the seeds from the same fruit and we put them in pots six months ago.
What is the main difference that makes it so dramatic?
The SOIL
If you want to be a successful gardener and grow your own food
you MUST have good soil.
The easiest way of getting good soil is to only use cow dung.
The plant on the right is 100% cow dung soil.
We took the test even further to make it even more dramatic and we put 100% cow dung soil in a sandbag.
Just see! The seeds, from the same fruit, planted six months ago. The plant on the right shows tremendous advantage over the other two.
This is the power of cow dung soil.
When you have great soil you are empowered to grow your own food.
This is an example of ginger and cantaloupe in the same sandbag, the cantaloupe is already maturing in this image, and a few weeks later it was grown at full size ready to harvest.
We also saw amazing results with sugar cane. The plant grew really fast, beautiful, green, lush, and best of all within 6 months you can see the sugar cane growing at the base of the pot.
This is a 6 month old cotton plant. We didn’t use any pesticides, additives or any kind of chemicals after planting the seed in cow dung soil.
The plant was completely left to its own devices. Because the soil was so potent and full of life the plant grew very healthy and didn’t require any kind of protection. Six months later this wonderful cotton began to bloom.
This is a turmeric plant. It will take some more months until it flowers and is ready to harvest. But already you can see that this plant is very healthy and beautiful it could easily be used an ornamental plant at the entrance of your house. Its so good looking. Very healthy.
We also grew bamboo, this is a bamboo species that is going to be used to make flutes. Very fast growth rate, and very easy to clone by splitting the well established root ball.
We grew pumpkins, the one on the left was grown with -cow dung mixed with grass left by the cows-, the one on the right was grown in ordinary soil. Very dramatic size difference.
We also grew flowers in planters with cow dung and sand, and the flowers are giving every day. Its a very healthy plant growing really fast.
So how can you get these results? Its very easy! You get your own cows, collect the cow dung, dry the cow dung. Crush it a little bit and its ready to use. Just put your seeds and you’re good to go. No pesticides or any artificial chemicals needed.
The only thing you need is to keep your cows healthy, eating fresh green grass. Just let them eat natural. Don’t put any injections for milking or any kind of hormones.
And then, everything you grow from there will be successful, beautiful and increase your health and vitality.
Thank you very much. Hare Kṛṣṇa!

While I 100% agree with the statements made in this video, I love the "making the perfect soil is easy, just get your own cows" part. Lol. Like that's "less complicated" than buying fertilizer (which I refuse to use.). Don't get me wrong, not being critical, I agree with the results, just find that part humorous.

True to some extend, but the container with the cow dung is way bigger. Plants grow proportional to the size of the container you keep them in. Next time for a real comparable result, use the same size container and the same amount of soil in weight. Also i would like to see how cow dung compares to store bought compost soil

If you can't do it with cow(s), horse(s) get chickens. Most every town, city will allow you to have chickens (maybe not a rooster) but you don't need the rooster. I've been using my chickens for the last several year to eat grass, weeds, bugs, insects, household food scrapes. They break it down and compost it; all I do is spread it out in an area to dry for a few days; and if I don't want to use it at that time; I bag it and apply to the garden before or after every growing season. Sure beats the labor of making your own compost. You will also have fresh wholesome eggs.

I got some cow dung dried them and added in the pots along with little sand. I put some radish seeds and waited to see the plants but not even a single seed was grown. Why? Your plants are so pretty and so too the lovely brown cows. Seeing your plants, I tried with radish seeds but without success.

beautiful & simple.. it seems so much opposite to the heavy industrialization that has pushed the world to the brink. I always thought cow dung needs to be diluted with soil (70% soil + 30 % cow dung mixture)... now I am educated because I can see the results of direct cow dung soil and I will give it a try. Thank you very much. Hare Krishna.

crunchy74 This is exactly what big corporations/industries DO NOT what you to know. They want us to rely heavily on bottled nutrients and bagged soiled. Countries of other region (out of the western world) has been using these, as well as other free natural method for hundreds of thousands of years. In many parts of Asia, soil is so rich and full of life, bamboo trees shoot up 40-50 feet high and sugar cane/corn stalk grows to the size of your calf.

@@obummerbinladen6915 I guess it depends on the cow and what she ate. mostly, direct cow manure will burn plants. Fresh manure, definitely. Composted version is less likely but it is still safer to mix with normal soil

I recommend caution using any kind of animal manure to grow food crops for human consumption. Animal manures contain many disease causing bacteria and parasites that can be transmitted to humans. Does drying manure for 3 or 4 days on a south facing wall somehow pasteurize or sterilize manure so it is safe for horticultural use? What is the average size and weight of a cow dung cake? What is the highest temperature obtained when dung cakes are dried on a south facing wall? I like this idea but I would thoroughly boil, bake, or pressure cook any food grown in "raw" or dried manure. Even composted manures are often un-sanitary = contain pathogenic bacteria. Most "authorities" say that manure has to be aged 1 year in order to kill parasites and disease causing microbes. Why does manure have to be dried before use? Has anyone tried planting in fresh manure? Cow manure has a low nutrient analysis so "burning" of plant roots by excess nitrogen should not be a problem. Fresh dairy cow manure contains 80% water on average. When I was young, Austrian farmers would plant Hungarian Stock Squash seeds in cow pats about every 20 feet in alpine pastures. The ground was not tilled or mowed and the squash grew large. For more information on biological farming methods visit: www.agriculturesolutions.wordpress.com --or-- www.worldagriculturesolutions.wordpress.com --or-- send your questions to: Agriculture Solutions, 413 Cedar Drive, Moon Township, Pennsylvania, 15108 USA --or-- send an e-mail to: erickoperek@gmail.com I would appreciate your help in investigating the use of cow manure as a growth medium for horticultural crops. Thanks! ERIC

Please Note: Cow manure is NOT "antiseptic" = it contains medically dangerous bacteria as well as harmful parasites (like round worms) that can seriously injure or even kill people. With all due respect to your religious beliefs, you really need to look at this from a factual, scientific angle. I advise you to search the Internet. The medical dangers of raw manures are well documented. This is a subject that requires scientific research so "cow manure soil" can be made safe for general use. Until then, I advise wearing plastic gloves when working with raw manure and washing hands thoroughly after working with manure. Crops grown in manure need to be thoroughly cooked to prevent bacterial and parasite infections. Root crops and leaf crops are especially vulnerable to contamination. Many crops are ready for harvest in less than 90 days, for example: Bush Beans (58 days), radishes (28 days), turnips (40 days), and leaf lettuce (50 days). Holding manure 90 days will not certainly prevent bacterial infections although longer holding periods greatly reduce the possibility of disease or parasite infestation. Also: Cow manure is NOT entirely free of weed seeds. Cows eat many seeds and quite a few of them pass through the cow without being digested. Thus, a pot filled with cow manure can sprout both broad leaf weeds and weedy grasses. You need to compare fresh manure to manure dried on a south facing wall for 3 or 4 days to measure the amounts of live bacteria and parasite eggs. Heat and dehydration might provide natural "pasteurization". ERIC KOPEREK = erickoperek@gmail.com

The dung will only be as good as the plants that the cow eats. The nutrients and minerals that your plants need may not be available in the dung. You will get better results if you make a compost from dung, green leaves and sawdust or woodchips with some soil from under a healthy tree. Apply this to the soil so that it transfers the microbes in the compost to the soil- it is the microbes that get the nutrients and minerals from the soil and transfer them to the plant. The plant also exudes sugars from photo synthesis through its roots which the microbes feed on. This is a very non-expensive way to grow the healthiest food. If you make a compost-tea from the compost you can also spray this on the plants - the microbes in this tea will protect the plants from insects and diseases.. No chemical fertilizer, pesticides fungicides and insecticides. Ken Bourne

Is it possible to grow plants with cow manure in granular form? I live in a city and therefore cannot raise cows myself. So on the internet I went and searched for cow manure, sadly enough I can't find any cow manure that is just dehydrated. All I can find is cow manure in granular form. I have my doubts about the cow manure coming in granular form since it's been processed in order to obtain such a form. Could it still have "life" after it being processed? If anyone could help me out that'd be great. Or if anyone knows a website where you can buy organic dehydrated cow manure, that'd be wonderful too.

What happens when it rains? I'm thinking that roots get more overflown with nitrogen, potentially destroying the plants. Also, if there is heavy rain, the dry cow dung can turn into mud, ruining the drainage and roots don't get air. What are your experiences in these scenarios, do plants withstand them?
@TheVedicWayChannel
@TheVedicWayChannel 7 жыл бұрын
Because the cow dung is dried first (or composted also) there is no green color left. So, there is no nitrogen burn. In case of heavy rain, the cow dung does become more muddy, but the plants don't struggle at all, you see, what happens is that cow dung is 100% organic matter, it is food for a lot of bugs. So after a rain, all the critters continue to dig tunnels, holes, paths, etc. which automatically aerate the soil. Just try it for yourself, and once you see the amazing results, you won't be satisfied with anything else.

Is to reduce the smell the only reason why you dry it first? Seems like fresh wet dung would be best.

Hi there. A couple of questions. Why do you have to dry out the cow dung before using it? Is horse dung as good?
@zacjohnson8404
@zacjohnson8404 9 жыл бұрын
+Naughty Goat Farm Horse dung is less digested and will have lots of seeds (depending on what the horse eats). I made a nice soil with horse dung but the garden has ALOT of weeds in it I have been taught that cow dung is less beneficial as it is so digested that it contains much less nutrition than horse dung.

We have access to cow manure from a raw milk dairy (no hormones), but what do you do to control weeds? I've heard horror stories from people in our area NW USA. Also, would this work with Llama or Alpaca manure? Maybe dry the pellets, then crush? Thank you!

while these results are amazing I can't help but think of all the variables being an armature soil nerd. like what the cows ate, were they given antibiotics ect. I believe worm castings or well composted humus cow manure all would yield similar results as long as they are of high quality. I applaud your doing side by side comparisons but would like to see what difference growing medium volume makes in these comparisons as in some of the more successful growing mediums seems to be a lot more volume.

Think of it, too: using cows for manure instead of food would give society a wonderful way to give full dignified employment to people who have a hard time getting or keeping a job; they most often have great affinity for animals and they would find satisfying work in producing manure for society. Manure is the most VALUABLE thing on the whole planet. How many people can live on Earth? As many as there is manure for. That is Nature's parameter of population.

By the way, I got your message about my song "Love And Peace". I actually know what you are taking about. I found it impossible to enjoy my first gamelan concert because they sounded out of tune to me. The only Beatle song that would be in just intonation would be "Within You, Without You" which was actually produced by an Indian musician named Batish and would actually be in the Microtonal Indian system of notation that has 24 tones. I have been permanently damaged by my upbringing and the only way I can experience microtonal expression is to play sharp. I play beautiful sitar music of my own composing, but it is in horrible western intonation. Everything we do is out of tune. But, it works. God is infinitely good. On and on. Thank you!
