okay, idk if it's only me, but when i watch studio ghibli's movies i feel like i'm dreaming. it happened for the first time with spirited away; it was late night, i had really few lights in my room and it was raining outside. I finished it and i almost cried. it gave me such a nostalgic feeling of some place i've never been to, and it felt like i just woke up from the most beautiful dream i've ever had, and those tears were a mix of sadness, because i knew that what i felt wasn't real, and a kinda malinconic happiness because of the ending. probably the best feeling ever. (i tried my best to explain it but its hard doe 😭)

u should watch whisper of the heart! not as the first studio ghibli movie but a lot of people forget about this movie and it's really good so u should definitely check it out, but it is the sequel of The Cat Returns (which i didnt like as much) so i'd recommend starting with spirited away, the classic favourite, and then totoro, kiki etc all the famous ones haha. nausicaa is another of my faves so def check it out too!

The Wind Rises is much more deep than her description. Yes, there are many imaginary scenes of him becoming a pilot/inventor, but I believe those imageries/metaphors reflect Horikoshi Jiro's actual accomplishments back in WWII. He was the inventor of the zero fighter planes that were believed to have amazing capability and technology considering Japan's insufficient raw materials. At the end of the movie, he mentions that not one plane came back and that was because they didn't have enough fuel for the round trip back. It was a suicide mission. I just love how Studio Ghibli implements historical context into their art to portray and interpret valuable insights into our cultures. They are truly one of the best animation studios who have ever lived and will continue to do so from now on.

honestly i completely agree! i didn't go into full detail about each movie because i focused on the reasons why i chose it for each sign, instead of giving a summary of the film. I kind of regret it a little bit because maybe i feel like i didn't "sell" the movies well enough, but i do wish everyone gives them all a chance since they are amazing movies

Spirited Away sure involves tons of character development: Chihiro, Haku, Noface, even Yubaba (if you remember her expression when Chihiro called her granny) develop at least somewhat, which makes one of them (Chihiro) braver. But I also think the movie is closely assosiated with a search of identity. In the movie, consumption is everywhere. Chihiro's parents consume. Noface consumes. Everyone at the bathhouse is pretty materialistic usually. Even Chihiro's name is consumed. By consuming, characters seem to seek for identity, as if consuming would give them something, change them. For this reason, I think Spirited Away should have been for another sign.

personally i think a lot of these movies should have been for other signs. idk what her other videos are like, but to me this seemed she had very basic knowledge or maybe read some bad article for generic info on each sign. i’ve been into astrology for over a decade now, and she got a lot of info on the signs wrong, which is understandable since it takes a lot of time to study not only by reading but looking up as many birth charts, then taking note by the people around you and looking at their similar personality traits and behaviors. her analysis of gemini, capricorn, aries, taurus, leo, and aquarius irked me the most, and even her own sign (scorpio, and mine as well) was very generic- which i would think she’d be more knowledgeable about than the others since it’s her sign. like i said though, i love and have been invested in astrology for years as well as ghibli films and maybe i just had way higher expectations for this video, when really it was more of a fun and generic pairing of zodiac signs to ghibli films rather than “the perfect studio ghibli movie for each zodiac sign”. :/

Also, it was said by Takahata, the director, that the film was pressing on the matter of japanese pride that led to Seita's and Setsuko's detachment from others. Yes, the aunt treated them poorly but she also had a lot to deal with. After the children started living in a bomb shelter Seita did not try to get help until Setsuko got to the point that she could not be helped. So yes, this movie did show boy's love and care for his siter but also showed that it was him, who caused their misery by his choices. So I wouldn't say that this movie is perfect for Virgo because it shows this unconditional love. It's a bit of misinterpratation in my opinion.

And I am a Virgo, but I couldn't go past the first 10 minutes of this film because it was too much to handle. Really not what I expected from a Studio Ghibli's film so it hit me hard. Maybe I'll try another time to watch it. But since these films are a great source of "escape" from reality, they are dreamy and beautiful, I don't look forward to watch it, I'd rather watch again some of the more cheerful ones :/

Okay, Leo is spot on. I feel like I'm an utterly wuss at heart but I always just try my best to just do stuff if I have to, especialy for my loved ones. Crying here and there, just so much emotions all over. Making others feel accepted and loved is the best thing you can do to make the world feels less shitty. Ooh this was super interesting to watch! I loved hearing why you chose these movies for each sign. I would've chosen Princess Mononoke for Libra because of the themes the movie invokes, finding a balance between nature and humanity and being able to see how both are important. Ashitaka often demonstrates how hes not really on a side in the movie, and just strives to help everyone while minimizing damages. Also! Would you consider making an "animated movies for the signs"? There are so many great movies (coughs klaus coughs) in the animated category 😍

As a cancer I can relate more to Kiki's delivery service. She loves her family but she is secretly ambitious. She doesn't trust everybody and may appear cold/ antisocial at first glance, but with time she makes incdredible friendships (with Tombo obviously but also her painter friend and Osono!). As you mentionned Cancers are super emotional and empthetic, even if we don't admit it in the comments haha! And that's totally kiki: she will not admit that she is sad, or hurt, or even tired, to the point the has a mental breakdown and can't fly anymore :'( But she will always be here for the people she care about! Anyway it was a great video and Castle in the sky is a lovely choice!!
