I got sick of the GoXLR letting me down so I’m using Elgato Wave XLR with Shure SM7B. Think I might invest in this box of tricks 👍🏼

My GoXLR has been buggy garbage despite the recent windows 11 update (which was way overdue). Picked this up and the software is miles better, the system is more stable and the pads are much more responsive.

Interesting. I've not used the GoXLR in a while. Thanks for sharing

Here's my take on mine after a couple of months of use so far. [Hardware] -Solidly built -Buttons and knobs feel really good -Ports are snug -LED brightness has good range -Built-in hardware audio effects and processing are top notch -Pads are immediate when they play sounds/apply voice fx -Video capture/passthrough is clear and virtually lag free [Software] -Having to use two different pieces of software (r0de central/r0de unify) is not super intuitive. I believe over time Unify will be the only software you need, but it's not quite fully implemented yet. -Unify doesn't have an option to load on startup, so you either have to add it to startup yourself or manually load it everytime. -Headphone volume keeps resetting to a lower volume after rebooting the computer, but the monitor volume is fine -Sometimes on reboot, Unify will say it has an update, but there really isn't one. If you choose to update it, it will reset it to default settings for some reason [Other thoughts] -When using r0de central, it will show on the led when your mic is peaking and such on the interface. When in unify, it does not -Unify changes your default system audio input and output every time on reboot. Definitely frustrating if you have other devices you'd rather be using -Some people might come into this thinking it's a good alternative to something like the Elgato Streamdeck. It is definitely not that even though it does have some similar functionality -I think over time, the software issues will be worked out, and it'll be more in sync with the hardware. It's definitely a great product with lots of great features.

Thanks for sharing. Unify is not as good as GG for sure, which is why I've been running that instead.

@@TheProvokedPrawn I'm definitely gonna try GG again. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the video. Still want to get the Rodecaster II though, but will be using it for more than myself.

Yeah if you have more than one mic then it makes sense.

I tried using the audio setup you have. However, I am not able to notice the changes in the microphone effects. Also, it doesn't appear to pick up the sources for sonar gg. Did the Unify program get patched?

@@TheProvokedPrawn I did the same thing. I can hear myself through the microphone. I set the effects, yet I see that the audio background is still picked up in the audio mixer. Plus, Sonar GG is appearing to make a big mess on the audio mixer in OBS.

Yes it's capable of many things which is great. I'd use it for the camera personally because that's the most useful use case for me but it can be used for console or dual pc setups 👍🏼
