You need good human capital to create prosperity. Africa does not have that and never will.
@carels5158
@carels5158 4 жыл бұрын
@Karen Maynard dont think numbers is equal to ability. Theres no track record in africa of human capital able to create prosperity. So until theres no proof its theory. And SA has proven again that the ability is lacking. The theory has caused a lot of pain and suffering to the african population
@carels5158
@carels5158 4 жыл бұрын
@Karen Maynard its a very difficult question. Theres so many factors that play a role. Debate that seems to never get to a conclusion. SA is the last example of an African country that was downgraded and seems to be in trouble from an economic point of view.

This is an excellent speech. Soon our generation will control where Africa is headed. Very soon the efforts we make in small, minute, seemingly-insignificant ways will start to tell on the continent. No more wars. Tolerance and unity will be the rule of law.

I too am excited and hope I live long enough to see the continent that my ancestors were ripped from take her rightful place. We have a stake in her too because for many of us we will never be anything other than Africans no matter where the ships anchored. We all need to invest our money, time and skills in making this happen.

Give this man a cookie!! It’s 2017 and non-African people still ask stereotype questions; have you seen fireworks before? What?! (Common knock out? Lol, that’s what we call them in Ghana) I also blame the media. Bad news sells. My sister has a theory (yet to be proven), pick any millennial from any big city in the world and they most likely have had the same experiences in life. Some people in Ghana can afford the same iPhones as those in US. Some Nigerians go to Dubai for vacation more than some Australians. Africa isn’t what the media depicts most of the time. Africa is rising!

So many educated bright individuals who can do wonders for the continent, those who care about their country and want to do the right thing. So much promise , my heart feels deeply that opportunities can be forfilled as there is so much promise. To release that, despotic regimes have to disappear otherwise this longing will never happen.

Great speech! Truly, I am optimistic, and I believe 2050 Africa will the opposite of what we know today. Watching this has really made me rethink where my focus should be. I've been trying to make change from the government but it seems too difficult. Perhaps, I should put more energy and focus on the sectors with the pan african agenda. Then again, I feel that the government should be responsible too.

I've never understood this expat mentality, if your mother country/continent is so fantastic why aren't you living there? Kelvin Doe is great, he sees the issues of Sierra Leone, he understands the issues are caused by them and need to be solved by them. He doesn't try and pass the buck. The world needs more people like him...

It is indeed a beautiful dream however, to be more practical we must look at what role does the super power play abstraining growth in Africa. For instant the world bank,securing sources in African countries and other political issues. List and campaign against unfair exploit in Africa must be addressed. We keep building projects on top of many rooted injustices. African will definitely work with the rest of the world if we Africans here bring to light injustice done to people back home and let them know that they need us too. What is a tree without its branches? Africa is that tree, God has blessed. A producer and proprietor of many sources. I was not born in Africa but after staying in African for 10 years I realised that people in African want a better life, they feel trap by a system they feel they can't overcome... their only option is to look at the colonial knterventions and attitudes plus lifestyle as their only hope. African is very rich, we have so much but we don't know how to effectively use this gift to produce hundred folds. The colonial master had shrewd wisdom which they used to exploit African up till today. To undo this you need Godly wisdom and application. Africa is a continent not a country. Every nation in Africa has their on complex infrastructure. This most be addressed individually.

Among many African nations, Zimbabwe has more well educated population. Even though they suffered many years of the same corrupted president, they kept the old English style education, legacy of the Colonialism. I like to see Zimbabweans will go to other African countries and empower the fellow Africans. Why just stay in the developed nations?

(This man said the African city of “Zimbabwe” First of all) I’m gonna pause for effect..... Accountable to the people, respect the rule of law and create social and economic prosperity for “everyone” based on “unity” I’m sorry son but IQ plays a role in this you can’t throw money at problems you your self live in a white mans country now God Almighty and by his grace becoming more civilized is the only salvation for this continent.
@Anthonydu01630
@Anthonydu01630 5 жыл бұрын
Alexander Great If IQ was the only factor to economy developpement sierra leone would be the richest country of africa, and richer than Croatia, Serbia, Mexico, Turkey, bosnia and herzegovina, Brazil, United arab emirates, Saudi arabia or morrocco but its actually the poorest or one of the poorest african country. Zimbabwe would be richer than Egypt, Dominican republic or Qatar ... And italy would be the richest european country, but no they are one of the poorest, its a corrupted country infested by the mafia. Only 4 IQ points separate sierra leone (91) and israel (95), so if you think IQ is what make a country succesful the numbers show its wrong. A 20points IQ difference is probably like a 0,5 second difference in a 100m sprint. West african people are the fastest in the world, the record of Usain bolt is 9,58 second, but Christoph lemaitre a white french sprinter did 9,99 second. So yes Blacl people are more athletic, fast and powerful, but white can be very athletic, fast and powerful too, these difference are almost nothing and its the same with IQ.

In reality a borderless state throughout all of africa is unwise, and would never work, as it has been tried many times in europe (napolean, nazis, roman empire), North america (US attacking canada and mexico), and Asia (the mongols, china, persian empires). Every time it ended up in corruption, massive massacres and bloodshed and poor government. It is best to respect country's borders with the exception of like minded and cultures joining together (such as senegal and gambia). When people have an identity to their own country they work harder for it. As opposed to not having a nationality because everyone believes everybody belongs to everywhere. It takes away responsibility and ownership.

Running is possibly his thing but facts not. Born in a city called Zimbabwe, he stayed in a mud hut without clothes with a pet lion, next minute hes in a middle income house and next in a private school. Maybe his father was the beneficiary of some tender fraud or hes lost touch with reality. If hes so impressed with africa move back to the city of Zim. Where currently 4million people are on dood aid due to the corrupt leadership. One thing I got confirmed is that Africa will continue sufferring due to dreaming dreams and not facing the reality. To prosper you need intelligance, skills and the ability of long term planning. That you do not have.

@@Anthonydu01630 theres no way in which you can compare africans with chinese. For a start theirs a 30% gap in the intelligance. Then theres a huge differance in work ethic formed over 1000s of years. As to your comment that Nigerians are the most succesful community in the US. Please supply details as this is the first I hear about this. In fact seen a few blacks complaining about Nigerians in US.

Five years later facts sadly shows, the speaker was young, intelligent, creative but also naive to believe in Obama, Bill and Melinda and the current financial system. With solutions for and in a system you can't solve problems and obstacles that lays out of it. Leave the old and create an other, better and honest one by new.
