@goldenstatewarriors9418 Жыл бұрын
Since 2018 when the 76ers emerged as a contender from the results of the Process they have been eliminated from the second round 5 times and got swept in round 1 once. They haven’t made it to the Conference Finals after winning 19, 18, 10, and 28 games and receiving several top 3 picks. In that timespan, the Bucks have made it to 2 Conference Finals, an NBA Finals, and win a title without being at the bottom for 4 years. The Heat stripped down an all time talented team with LeBron/Wade/Bosh and the 76ers helped them rebuilt by choosing Harris and Simmons over Butler. They have been to 3 Conference Finals, 2 NBA Finals, and a chance to win a title this year. The Celtics had one losing season this entire span, and rebuilt from the Big 3 to this new core almost seamlessly. They have been to 5 Conference Finals and had a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals. Hell, the Raptors have had more success than they have. The Process is dead.

May be they should learn how to develop talent and build a foundation to attract stars like the Brooklyn Nets and Miami Heat did. The Nets were in a far worse situation than the Knicks a few years ago after Billy King traded away all of those 1st round picks. And now they got Kyrie and KD. The current Heat squad isn't a list of top 10 draft picks and they are in the Eastern Conference Finals.

@@nick0875 At least the Knicks got into the playoffs this season. Better thing to say now than some of their past few seasons, that's for damn sure!
@nick08753 жыл бұрын
@@crazyluigi6664 The Knicks, for the first time in awhile, played a style of basketball that actually fits their personnel roster. Because they don't have a go to elite scoring option they played defensive focused basketball, controlling the pace and grinding out contests to take advantage of hot nights from their players and cold nights from their opponents. And that is a style that works, Eric Spolestra of the Miami Heat has coached that team in a similar style ever since Lebron left. But before they get carried away with what success the team has had, the Knicks have some big questions to answer this offseason. Notably most of this roster is up for new contracts and the front office has a lot of cap space to work with. Minus Kawhi leaving the Clippers there isn't a huge star in free agency this year so Leon Rose and Tom Thibodeau have to pick carefully who they decide to both resign and bring in and what they pay them. The worst thing that they can do right now is get desperate and overpay players that aren't going to move the needle that much.
@crazyluigi66643 жыл бұрын
@@nick0875 Agreed. Meanwhile, my team just beat the Lakers, so it already feels like we won the NBA Finals today! That being said, I know we need to keep our focus in check. @FreshPrincex43 жыл бұрын
Imagine being the #1 seed, being the favorites to not only win the east but to possibly win the finals. And you choked, getting eliminated by a underdog franchise from a city that's known for blowing leads led by a guy who looks like a balding child. (I'm a hawks fan lol, had to throw that joke in there. Trae has been amazing so far considering this his first playoffs appearance)

The fac that Simmons cant hit a jumper to save his life coupled with the fact that Embiid is made out of tissue paper pretty much means this team is dusted.
@cheeseypie55554 жыл бұрын
He was beginning to shoot more before his injury and if anything a major injury will slow most players down (at least a little bit) which might make it harder for him to play his normal game and force him to develop a jump shot a bit faster than he's been doing. He's still a damn good player and if they sign someone who can shoot from deep, you know he'll get a shit load of assists.

@Yeen1254 жыл бұрын
Eh, regarding the Kawhi shot, even if that didn’t happen and the Sixers won game 7, they still would’ve had to face a red hot Bucks team... Keep in mind, it took the entire Raptors defense and brilliant scheming by Nick Nurse to stop them.

I feel the celtics got the last few moments of Horford's prime, Sixers are stuck with a rapidly deteriorating Horford
@jack900544 жыл бұрын
Even if Horford can still play, the sixers really don't need another PF/C that has no perimeter game, especially if they're gonna resign Harris (another forward with a limited perimeter game). Now they have four expensive stars, none of whom can really shoot and all need to get into the paint to have any effectiveness. They should've kept JJ Redick, who cost exactly half as much (13.5M) as Horford and is the perfect fit for the team.

Not re-signing Jimmy Butler is the dumbest thing the Sixers have done since trading away the #1 pick in 1986 then Trading Moses Malone for a bag of used basketballs and an injury prone Jeff Ruland. With Jimmy Butler this team would have been a true contender.

I think their biggest issue this season was that the guys they signed didn’t fit together. Simmons and Embiid can probably work together if the other three guys can shoot. Instead, they get Richardson, Harris, and Horford, all of whom can shoot but aren’t truly knockdown shooters. When they had Reddick, a guy who can knockdown just about any jumpshot, and Butler, who is borderline elite at making his own offense, things actually kind of worked.

The 76ers are a perfect meme. Two busted 1st overall draft picks IN A ROW (Fultz always hurt and is no longer on the team) and Simmons (just an absolute hell hole who literally won't shoot or improve) along with Philly's passion to sign bad contracts and make bad trades. They can make the playoffs but they turn into the 2016 76ers all over again. This video has aged well and will age well for the future.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a lot like SNL since 2013. You think that, while there are clearly some nice aspects to it, everything feels like a grandson period in terms of finding a main cast that sticks... and then you realize it's been 9 seasons already. Don't get me wrong. Ben Simmons (Cecily Strong), Joel Embiid (Kenan Thompson) and guys like Al Horford (Pete Davidson), Tobias Harris (Aidy Bryant) as well as Seth Curry and Danny Green (Colin Jost and Michael Che) are good to build around. However, If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Just like SNL trying (and failing) to make catchphrase comedy work, the Sixers have tried (and failed) to turn Ben Simmons into a 3-point shooter. The Philadelphia 76ers-Atlanta Hawks (at least for Philly) is the Wario courtroom sketch of basketball: pretty good in theory, but absolutely horrid as time goes on. *Blow it up, Philly.*

Fultz man. What the hell. In 2018-2019 the 76ers first round pick, Zhaire Smith, missed his entire rookie year after being hospitalized with a food allergy. A FOOD ALLERGY. Perfectly encapsulates the Process. It's brutal. And the hell of it is this: they could still be contenders inspite of Fultz being the biggest bust in franchise history, missing on Tatum, losing Butler, signing Horford, and giving Harris the max. All it takes is Simmons developing an 18 foot jumper. That's it. Not even a good jumper. Just A jumper. He's a top 5 all around player in the world if he does that. But he won't or can't.
