He should have some period of silence after reading each paragraph so the listener has a moment or two to briefly digest or think about what was read, as opposed to immediately moving on to the next paragraph. If you were reading the text at home from the book, chances are you would do the same. I have the entire set of Philokalia volumes at home. It takes time to read and meditate on its contents. You can't just blitz through the work as if it's some news article. It's contents are profound and require the reader to meditate and think about what the author is communicating to the reader. In my opinion, this video is essentially worthless because of the manner in which the writing was read. Sorry for being so blunt but that's my opinion

Click the setting icon in the top right corner of the video. Click Playback Speed. Slide left to slow it down or right to speed it up
