I love barkeeper's friend. Been using it for decades. I bought a large container with a snap cap at a restaurant supply store, which is used for storing spices. I dump my BK container in that and ditch the can.

I love Bar Keeper's Friend cleaner. I use both the powder and the cook top cleaner and the results are outstanding. I also use the liquid cook top cleaner on my kitchen stainless steel sink. When I bought this home, the kitchen sink had that nasty hard water marks inside each basin. Ugh. I used the liquid cleaner on it and wow! It removed all the hard water crustiness and left the sink looking like new. I use it on the shower doors and around the bathroom faucet and sink to remove hard water spots. The stuff is fantastic. Anyone who hasn't tried Bar Keepers Friend needs to do it. And don't be afraid to use it on glass or ceramic basins. Just use the liquid style (not the powder). No scratches at all, just shine. I swear. Thanks for doing this review of the cleaners. I'm sticking with BKF 👍

I use the liquid BKF on everything in my kitchen. Makes my sink & stainless appliances looks brand new as well as the glass cook top. It takes off literally any burnt on stain. I love it.

I use an old tupperware lid to keep BKF from clumping. It is the large drinking glass lid.

Bkf also works great on my tools in the garage. I had some spanners that I needed to save. They came up like new. Wasn’t a hard chore at all. Like both the liquid and the powder. If I need a paste, juste add a little water to the powder. Lovely stuff and versatile.

I'm an addict, I use BKF for almost everything. Does a great job on the toliet rust build up. I used it to strip the rust off my metal kitchen cabinets with steel wool instead of a sanding disk drill, it did a great job and instead of polyeuthane, I used Zep metal cleaner/polish, which gives it a bit of waterproof and incredible shine.

I use barkeepers friend power cream and it’s amazing! You shake the bottle, spray it on the pan, leave for five minutes and then gently scrub and it’s like a factory reset.

I did the same comparison. BKF worked best. The smell, I can’t tolerate. I have some mild COPD. The Lung Association really doesn’t want you to use anything for cleaning except vinegar. 😂 my mother used this my whole life!

Bar Keeper's Friend is magic for taking black rust rings out of wooden worktops. For that alone it is a key cleaning product for me.

I use the liquid Bar Keepers Friend so it is easy to apply and I let it sit for a few minuted before I start to scrub. Also, I never use the yellow/green Scotch brite sponge as that green one will scratch the crap out of any metallic surface (and glass as well). I only use the blue non-scratch Scotch brite on my polished pans. I haven't had any success in removing that baked on grime from my Aluminum pans with the steel induction plate in the bottom. I'd love to hear from anyone who has been able to clean those (without taking hours - I've certainly spent up to a half hour with only partial success -- not worth it!)

I don't think The Pink Stuff is supposed to be used on stainless steel. I love the way Bar Keeper's Friend cleans my stainless steel pans and will continue to use it for that purpose. Just a side note, Bar Keepers Friend has a lot of oxalates in it for those who are sensitive to oxalates. Wear gloves, which you did for this video, when using that product. Thank you for doing this test for us.

Pro tip: If you clean pans regularly, it won't be so hard to clean later. Also, Bar Keepers Friend comes in liquid/paste form.

Are you aware that BKF also has another cleanser that is specifically made for cleaning stainless steel? I have no idea what is different between that and the general BKF, but I've found that it works wonderfully. How about doing a comparison between regular BKF and BKF for SS?

I use BFK and lightly spray water on the surface first or use the liquid BKF. Then I let it sit for a few minutes while I do something else and the scrubbing is minimal!

One additional point for BKF- it is the best product to remove marks from silverware that accumulate on Fiestaware or other ceramics.

I'm a fan of Bar Keeper's Friend. That said, I think most of the stain removal in your tests is a result of using the abrasive side of the sponge and less due to the cleaning media. While maybe not as convenient as scrubbing with a sponge, oven cleaner will work wonders on removing baked on oil stains on pans.

I use Barkeepers Friend most of the time on my All Clad Stainless Steel. I prefer Bon Ami which was originally recommended by All-Clad. Some time ago, Bon Ami became difficult to find in stores. Once in a while it pops up. It just seems to make a better paste and seems to clean better. Could be all wet on that though.

I use BKF as it's an inexpensive, easy to find cleanser that works well.. But for the tough stuff I break out the (not so easy to find) Zud powdered cleanser. It contains pumice and quite a bit more oxalic acid than BKF and will clean virtually anything on stainless steel. A fantastic product.

From my experience, the Scotch Brite scouring pad is overkill. They're way more abrasive than most people imagine (because it's made out of plastic), which leads to micro-scratches, which lead to surfaces that become harder and harder to clean (or easier and easier to stain.) In fact, I think the case could be made, if you're going (are willing) to use a Scotch Brite scouring pad to clean a surface, then don't bother with an abrasive/acid like Bar Keepers Friend; just scrub the heck out of it and eventually you'll remove enough material (good and bad) to get results. My approach is to wet the surface, sprinkle the dry BKF on, rub/mix with a gloved finger to coat the entire surface with a thin slurry, and then wash with a typical wash cloth (I've used microfiber wash clothes for years, so don't know if that makes a difference.) I've restored more than a few SS pans that were left on a hot burner empty/dry (by some idiot in the house I live alone in), to brand new condition with that process. Usually on the 1st attempt, but always with repeated attempts for the more "messed" up pans. Also, I think the gloves he's wearing in the video should be highlighted. Per the manufacturer, "Bar Keepers Friend is oxalic acid and can wreak havoc on your skin, especially if you use it for a prolonged period or use it frequently. In addition to making sure you’re not inhaling it, it’s important to protect your hands by wearing gloves.” And because it's an acid, don't let it soak for much longer than a minute before washing and rinsing.

I use it on my All Clad stainless steel pans and it does a beautiful job. Just know that it has oxalates in it so if you know that you are sensitive to oxalates, wear gloves.

BTW, Bar Keepers Friend is cheaper at Home Depot than Amazon. The only downside is you have shake the container before every use or you’ll get a clear liquid instead of a white cleanser substance.

BKF directions say to leave it stand for two minutes. I work it into paste. Lot less work this way.

If you’re trying to clean the OUTSIDE of your pans, don’t use either. Just spray it with Easy Off Oven cleaner. Let it soak for a few minutes, and then run it under warm water. All the stains will be gone. No scrubbing needed. But if you’re cleaning the inside surface, BKF is the only thing to use, as recommended here.
