This song is epic, but after watching the movie and this vid, all I feel is sadness. No one wanted the plagues, and when you think about it, though Moses freed his people, this song just shows how hurt and sad he was. Moses and Rameses were brothers who loved each other dearly, but their beliefs and stances made them enemies. The entire story is just tragic. :'( Great job btw, the vid is awesome, and I can feel chills going down my spine when the plagues hit!

I agree, it does make you sad to see what sin truly does. I wish hollywood stayed true to the real story though. It never says Moses and the Pharaoh were close. Moses had been gone about 40 years. His wife never went to Egypt with him. He knew he was a Hebrew all along. And Aaron was by his side the entire time, spoke for him a lot, as Moses lost some of the Egyptian language in the wilderness. The story has so much more!!! But the awe you get from the movie and songs is amazing though (Prince of Egypt i mean).

Even God didn't want to do what he did. Exodus is sad, it shows how destructive pride and being intractable is. If Ramses had been willing to hear sense from his own brother, it wouldn't have come to that.

The combination of water spouts with The parting of the Red Sea made it even more epic, wow!!! It hurt God's heart to do this to the Egyptians that's why he tried so long to warn them. The plagues didn't happen all at once, they happened over a course of several months. Just 400 years earlier God used Joseph to save Egypt from a global famine. No one stops to think that God loved the Egyptians too even though they didn't acknowledge him. He was trying to also show them that their gods were not the real gods and that he was the one that really controlled nature, that he is the Creator. This was not just God setting his people free but also judging the gods of Egypt for deceiving and holding the Egyptians themselves in spiritual bondage.
@TheZombieburner2 жыл бұрын
He loved Ramses every bit as much as Moses. Nobody wanted LESS to use the Plagues on Egypt than God. He sent Moses entirely because He thought Ramses might listen to his own brother and see reason, that it might be averted. Exodus is a tragedy, but it had to be done!

@@TheZombieburner Actually, if you look at the texts, God DID want all this to happen since he wanted to make an example out of the Egyptians and their beliefs. It's mentioned that, after the first few Plagues, the Pharoah did want to let the Hebrews go, but it was God Himself that hardened his heart so he'd keep enduring it more and more. God wasn't doing this in an attempt to convince the Pharoah, He wanted to BREAK him, to completely destroy his belief in his Gods.

@@TheZombieburner Or man is jus desperately trying to make sense of the world and creates irrational conclusions in world that is made of rationality. I understand that people are afraid of life not being ever lasting and fair but we have to realize there may or may not be a secure afterlife after death. Who knows what happens when we die but the rational mind tells us one thing. That may be a bit terrifying but denying that possibility does not mean blind trust is the right thing to believe. It just means me favour ideas and information based on our own conviction rather than seeing what is actually there. God may ask people to have fate but I never stated in the bible that men should trust blindly. So religious people should hope for a better afterlife but they should never say they are sure or trust blindly because nobody knows for sure, only the dead knows.

@@tomasstargamer6308 unlike in the Hollywood movie, God sent Moses to bargain with Pharaoh multiple times and gave him many chances to change his mind. Even after the plague was taken away Pharaoh will change his mind again. Therefore God started to harden Pharaoh's heart (point of no return? Im not an expert) Eventually God sent the last one the dealbreaker. This last plague was a judgement to ensure that people would follow God even as he protected them. Anyone who didn't obey Moses's instructions would also be stricken even if they were Hebrew.

And then Ramesses renags, which is funny because God knew he would as he knows every possible future, but there was a future that Ramasses meant his word that God saw and I believe he hoped for that one, twas not the one he got.
