I love my portal personally. If you have shity internet service I can understand why you wouldn't like it, but mine is pretty damn good and it connects to my Playstation in a matter of seconds. It lets me play games while I can watch whatever I want to on the TV in the background.

I founs that if i use my mobile hotspot the connect to public wifi my phone becomes a router for my ps portal and that is how U connect my portal to wifi. Good thing about this is that my mobile hitspot data is not used up.

I have had a smooth gaming experience. Every now and then I have micro stutters, but other than that it has been smooth for me and my ps5 is not connected to ethernet. It is on wifi. But I do want to try the SteamDeck OLED or ROG Ally.

It’s essentially the same. Just don’t have worry about using your phone or iPad. It’s just nice to not have to carry my ps5 or ps5 controller around with me. I just carry this one device and that’s it. My phone and iPad is free to do other things. Like be on the web. Etc

I just feel like Portal would’ve done so much better if it just allowed you to connect to your PS5 without having to use Wi-Fi I don’t really understand why it needs Wi-Fi if it’s connected to the PS5 and it’s just mirroring what you see so I don’t understand why the Wi-Fi is needed. I just play my PS5 with no problems connected to the Internet. The portal is not the same it lags like crazy and I’m right next to the PS5 ..
