I love when I see NL in a safe situation (riding on Olmec) and I notice there is less than a minute left on the video. Those seconds of me eagerly awaiting to see how he throws are so enjoyable. And the rationale after is just *chef's kiss*.

Yeah seriously, the game is harder than it looks. I've been using the shortcuts and find the game easier after skipping the dwelling. What a rough start to every run.

@@zack8596 After having to go through it like 1000 times I feel like it's not really that hard, the hard part comes in the amount of multitasking you gotta do there, you need to get every bit of money if you're not killing shops or be aware of the angry shopkeepers if your are, you gotta get you udjet, you gotta look for the torkey floor to stack up on HP, and you gotta try to get some favor with kali to get the kapala or as close to it as possible. You can do a lot of those thins on other areas but I feel like the Dwellings are the simplest terrain you'll get in the game to move around and get ready for your run.

@@HighLanderPonyYT It is a pretty luck dependent situation. I personally think it's pretty bullshit that the engine prioritizes the skeleton's hitbox when whatever you're trying to jump on with intent is almost always a higher priority.

@@the.helgard It may be a trial and error situation (once) but it's definitely not a luck-based situation, since the player could stomp on the thing when it's by itself. It sucks that it ended a run but live and learn.

Also your first statement "it may be a trial and error situation" implies some level of randomness (and thus luck).

What I have learned from experiments is that when it comes to favor for kali turkeys count the same as an alive enemy. That means if you can sac some enemies on top of 1 or 2 turkeys you can get the kapala really easy on some floors. The decision to bomb them should be based on if you can get 2 or 3 enemies to kali alive to optimally only give away 1 turkey and get 2 more for hp

NL, later after seeing an altar: Goes back all the way to the start of the level, risking his life several times, and with no time left before the ghost arrives. Really, just... why not open the coffins earlier if they are in difficult-to-backtrack-to positions? Naked men are a resource, and he just keeps rejecting them instead of taking them along for later.

So... just a heads up... if you take the right path without the Ugot Eye, you can bomb your way down to Vlad's domain. Similarly, you can do that anyways so that your Ugot Eye doesn't get consumed.

More often than not you can get most of what you want just by buying, wanting all their items is just greed. NL, I don't have Spelunky 2 so I'm not positive that it still works this way, but to get to the city of gold in the first game, you needed the scepter _and_ the headjet. Without the headjet, the scepter wouldn't work as a key.

I gotta say NL. Though you may be a little behind the 8-ball compared to like MALF or baer, how youre taking your time to just get through the game and practice just making it through the biomes feels like itll pay off in the long run. Like future runs will be smoother I think.
