I agree with the logic that pointing Recall to 10 is a failure in adhering to the logic that makes Canadian Highlander what it is, but I also don't think just pointing the cards Recall decks can draw into is the cleanest answer either. Unfortunately, pointing things like Phlage or Whiteplume (at least in my mind) just means that other decks that would play them get punished for Recall being of such high power level. In order to make it a fair and equitable point spread, I think you'd likely have to toy with point totals for all kinds of different things so that there is better balance between different decks. This might just be because I play Slushie, but losing some of my best cards that I don't have to spend points on or losing some of my pointed cards because other cards were pointed just because Recall is busted doesn't sound like an enjoyable time. And if I lose some of my cards because Recall is busted then it makes the issue of Recall's overwhelming resource advantage even more punishing to play against. From my perspective, Recall is so powerful because it doesn't much matter what cards they draw into, there's enough to be gained from just having more cards that it gets the job done. TLDR, I agree with your philosophy behind your video, and I think if they wanted to avoid pointing Recall to 10 then they would have to point other things, but doing so would have to be done carefully, likely dropping points on a lot of other cards to offset the gain in points that Recall forces them to have. I don't know what the best or ideal solution would be, and it's a complicated issue.

So many of those “best 1 for 1’s” are 2 for 1’s or X for 1’s - probably part of why they’re the best…

I think the terminology here overlapping with the typical "1 for 1" made it a bit confusing, he was just talking about if you could have any one card for their one card those are the best (because they are the best x for 1s). You always want to have an x for 1 card if you can

Yeah I made this presentation in like an hour I didn't flesh out the language very well. The best 1:1s are the ones that are way more than 1:1s

I think you should challenge the idea that pointing Recall to 10 would be a failure. Point spreads aren't the only interesting thing about this format, the other cards in your deck matter too. Decks that only play recall would have to figure out what combination of cards would be best to put in the rest of the deck, and this could end up creating archetypes that are wholly distinct in Canlander. While it's not an ideal situation, it wouldn't bother me as much. I do think that overall, cards should be more aggressively pointed to preserve deck diversity, but that's just my bias.
