i have after countless times trying to find a better version of this song live admit defeat. There is none. Stewarts drum playing and hi hat nuances are a complete display of raw feel. Sting with his syncopated singing against the bass riff is wow. Can only imagine how many concerts they have played without recordings to show the musicianship

There's also a wonderful version of Shadows in Tokyo with a great solo by Stewart. I'm still looking for a greater version of When the world. But never found any better than "around the world"

Yes. It's the best live version of this perfect song I have ever heard, and I've searched the world online and offline for a better or even comparable version. Stewart's bell cymbal, three cowbell taps and bell closed phrasing in the second verse is the most beautiful drumming I have ever heard..so simple, so powerful, so Copeland. We are grateful this was captured on video with such good sound and footage.

When they arrived to Argentina most people didn't even know them. They played at Obras Sanitarias Stadium, a local rock place which lying at a basketball arena. As the crowd went crazy by the music, a youngster tried to climb up the stage and was arrested by a federal cop. Andy Summers stopped playing the guitar and kicked the policeman; later on he had to declare about the incident at a police station. A pair of days later they played at the disco dancing "New York City" in Buenos Aires. As nobody knew them, they had a lunch at a pizzeria bar in front of the disco. No one asked them for an autograph or even a photo!

Fucking genius arrangement of this song . If you watch Stewart copelands documentary on the band, you'll hear sting singing it as he wrote it , which was pretty much the same version as on the blue turtles album.

Clarifying: that is not the Roland Guitar Synth he used on "Don't Stand So Close To Me" and "Secret Journey". It's a Hamer sporting a strange 3 coil pick up with Andy using artificial harmonics and his favored cocktail of compression, flanger and/or chorus, and a Roland Space Echo. Bonus points to Andy for great volume knob manipulation versus a volume pedal.

It was a moment of military government in Argentina, and the repression an dissapearence of people was an everyday thing. Fortunately, there was no aftermath for him...

Likely some of their weakest material. More generally the whole Zenyatta album is pretty uninspired, and it shows. Especially with songs like this one. He did improve it quite a bit on his 1st solo album, though.
