In this episode of Brad & Lex, the reggae stylings "Sting" Lex and immediately infects her with joy no other police could bring. She displays her elation under detainment by releasing her "rasta bop" before branding the sound as "reggae" while the ever so analytical Brad searches for meaning apparently unaffected by the weightlessness as he remains planted like the flag on the lunar surface barely giving us on earth his "side to side sway".

This sums a lot about The Police around 1979 - 1981. Andy Summers' guitar sound truly shines above the foundation. Back then I saw them performing this song in German television show "Rockpalast" and thought whoa ! Went on to buy the album "Reggatta De Blanc". Cas Haley did a version on this, acoustic guitar and his voice only but great.

I was drunk in a hotel room in Munich, slumped on the bed with the whirling pit when this riff came into my head. I got up and started walking round the room, singing 'Walking round the room, ya, ya, walking round the room'. That was all. In the cool light of morning I remembered what had happened and I wrote the riff down. But 'Walking Round the Room' was a stupid title so I thought of something even more stupid which was 'Walking on the Moon'. - Sting, L'Historia Bandido, 1981[3]

Love this song! The drums and beats on this are another level. This was one of the first CD's I bought in high school, but my mom played the album when I was growing up. You're right, its just such a good feeling song. Loved seeing your smile while you were listening! I relate lol

You two might dig "synchronicity 2" it has an apocalyptic rock vibe.

i remember when i was a kid in melbourne , australia in the 70s, i caught a ride with two older cousins to go fishing on a big river system that ran along the border between tow major states, this was the only cassette they had for the long drive lol, so there i was in an aussie panel van with two weed smoking cousins for a road trip with police being the only music, loved them from that point onwards ;)

Dub is a form of Reggae where everything but the basics are removed and what is left in are the underpinnings. This just happened to be a song written in that style. Grace Jones does a killer version of this.

Lex, you're right. I grew up in California but I was at school in Hawaii when this came out. Our college was about two blocks from the beach and my girlfriend and I would go on nighttime walks while listening to this. It's a song one listens to when they're feeling great.

I love this tune, it was the very first music video i saw on UK tv. They were playing instruments in/around Skylab and rocketcs before it was sent into space

I love Sting and the other two, Jamie Summer and AND. Well they were a little Trippy 80's vibe. They were unique! sycronisty was a great album 80's New Wave Punk for upper Class, yet even they started at CBGB'S. Sting went on to have a huge career with Blue Turtles album. In fields of Body and many other great songs. Don't stand so close was a teacher student taboo. Then there was every more you make and free free set them free to kill first done every move you make, later stuff dessert rose and I hope the Russians love Thier children to. Lots of cool stuff. Even played the music theme to Dune the Movie. Was also acting. Oh don't forget he helped make I want my MTV hit Song opening part. Sting had a very active career. Always cool, at 50 played with shirt off still looked 20. Guy was an anomaly.

I loved when they came out in the late 1970s. Disco was done and a new wave came in it was a Renaissance so much great music came out. Saw them in concert. Their last one.
