Please don't worry about what you refer to as the 'infomercial' videos for the bar. I'm sure I speak for a great many of us here, we are thoroughly enjoying this 'tangent'. The best part about it is it makes us feel part of your family there - we join you, visit you whenever all the Beaver family and you and Katy return with a new 'episode'. Yes, travel vlogs are interesting, and it's nice to see new places, but so many others are doing simply that. Adventures in a single place, with the same people is very appealing, as it invites us into the story. And we love this story Michael. God bless you.

Treat your employees well and they will take care of your customers and you very well. Mike is really adopting the Canadian work ethics and culture. Except that his staff call him sir which is not a Canadian thing. They prefer to be adress by their name.

@@mattjoseph2239 I get that, we call everyone sir/ma'am in PI. It's just the norm here in Canada, not to call your superior like your boss, manager, even the PM, sir/ma'am. It's tooooo formal for them. They like the casual, it also makes the work environment feel more relax and friendlier and less discriminating. We do use ma'am/sir or miss for women for some strangers as we don't know their names so it's more appropriate that way. Discrimination is highly intolerable here specially in the workplaces.

Looks great. Good luck! I can tell you as my experience in the legal field for over 20 years in NYC, any bar/restaurant owner can expect to be there 60-80 hours a week for the week for the first few years. Any expectation of traveling around in a few months and letting the business run itself is setting you up for disappointment. It just can’t happen with a good outcome. That’s just the nature of the business. It’s a tough business and wears on you. I know someone who owns several multimillion $ McDonald locations and they are still in the restaurants 5 days a week after 15 years of ownership. It’s just a hands on business that requires constant oversight

@@ThatPhilippinesLife Sideline suggestion: For the females in your restaurant/bar: Short pleated skirts are very sexy. Just be safe and pair them with sturdy acceptable street-shorts underneath. Exposing "briefs undies" is not sexy in a restaurant. Skirts uniformed with a button-up white cotton blouse with puffy shoulder sleeves are a "take-off" from the girls' school uniforms. Youthful sexy without being base. All that with your red cow-girl hats makes for a festive, fun, and youthful uniform. Alternately, since it's the "Canadian Beaver," you might want to consider the Royal Mounted Police tan hat with the flat, stiff brim for the manager's uniform. (Or even for Kat and you. Of course, Laura would look "cute as a button" wearing one, also.)

Since foreigners are intrigued by this Filipino word, here's an explanation: "Sulking" or "to sulk" is often considered the closest English translation of TAMPO or NAGTATAMPO. It is usually succeeded by a silent treatment. In Filipino culture, tampo refers to a behavior wherein one withdraws his or her affection or cheerfulness, from a person who has hurt his or her feelings. I would say "Upset" is also acceptable. I enjoy your vlogs, Michael. Keep them coming!

@stevenhull50255 ай бұрын
How can one give 50% off plus pay umpteen staff??? 33% costs is stock, 33% are wages which leaves a 34% profit before deducting utility bills and taxes. Beavers is there to make a living for the owner plus a living for the staff. Beavers is not a charity but a BUSINESS and should be run as such. Having a happy hour a couple of evenings a week where you break even on alcohol is more prudent and up sell food (at full price).

You can't really compare to western minimum wage. Most western cities rent are equivalent to 100k pesos plus car and food expenses. I think minimum daily wage is less than 500 peso/ about 12k a month or about 10 USD per day. Entry level public school teacher is just about 20k per month. Again it's about the purchasing power parity.

Please excuse me if the quote occurs later in the Livestream, I didn’t wait to reply coz I frequently hear him say little girl or baby girl or kiddo etc when discussing Lara. But it is not impossible he called Cat little girl, I guess. If so he was in a humorous, teasing mode I would guess.
