Thanks for this review. Most all of the other reviews I have seen simply show how they put it together and what the specs are but almost no riding reviews. To me the value is how it performs on the trail, which is what you showed really well. Cheers.

Thanks for the kind words! That's why I broke up my review into two parts. I did do the whole unboxing and what to expect thing, and then followed up with real trail impressions of how it behaves. Also, thanks for watching!

Thank you for another great video. After converting my size M, 29" wheels T7's Schwalbe Hans Dampf tires to tubeless, its weight dropped to 16.4kg. Deleting the tubes saved 1.5kg. I agree about the grips and saddle. I bought Fifty-Fifty grips, but returned them. The saddle is far more comfortable than the Bontrager on my nephew's Trek Roscoe 7. So far, I am totally pleased with my T7.

I got my first MTB 1 month ago ( Polygon Cascade 4- Hardtail ) After my first ride on the trails I was hooked!! and after the 2nd week of riding I was already looking at purchasing my first Dual Suspension bike. After a tonne of research I've decided I want to get a Siskiu T7.... BUT I've made a promise to myself first... I can't purchase the T7 until I learn how to: - Bunny Hop 1-2 ft consistently - Hit small-medium jumps & drops with confidence - Wheelie 100 meters - Graduate my Diploma So far I've got a 1 centimetre bunny hop & a 5 meter scuffed wheelie & theirs a 50% chance I get bucked when hitting a small jump!
@JaredRMorgan
@JaredRMorgan 3 жыл бұрын
Those are all great goals! But it may be fair to treat yourself to the bike you want and see yourself riding the most as your skills will probably have to be relearned a bit when making the transition from hardtail to full suspension anyway. I think it’s best to just learn on the bike you see yourself riding. Cheers to being hooked to the sport!

I've had mine for a few months. It can take an absolute beating. Ride in the Adirondacks, tons of roots and rock. I swapped out my fork to a 150mm Lyrik, xt cranks, spank seat,stem, and grips,RF bars and went tubeless with mynesweepers. Also added the megneg. Bike is a large and tips the scales at 35lbs. New wheels are on the way and should drop the weight even more. This bike doesn't feel heavy when riding. It is very nimble and you feel like you ride "in" it, not "on" it. I would recommend it. Yes I've spent a lot upgrading, but I like to upgrade regardless. Most of what I changed is because I am a heavier NFL type, and want a bulletproof bike, so far it has been awesome.
@JaredRMorgan

I totally understand how you feel with committing to this much of an expenditure. What I can tell you is, you’ll be blown away by how much more capable this is in comparison to an X-cal. Not only are the components better but the geometry is much more confidence inspiring for the features and descents you take on. Plus, you can rest assured there is no better bike that’s in this same price point. I’m still baffled by how they can keep this bike sub $2000. I've been having trouble trying to decide what bike to get. The d7 or t7. My trails here are in the desert with lots of rocks, but sometimes smooth. I don't go off many jumps it's a bunch of cross country type trails in my area. I want a great climber too. Which one would be better?
@JaredRMorgan

So personally, I'd probably still choose the T7 for its mountain goat climbing capability and its willingness to gulp down chunky rock sections. I was recently riding some very rocky terrain, and I can tell you I was super thankful to have 140mm front travel on my 29er T7....I was using it all up! Hope this helps! @JaredRMorgan

This is a good question and there's layers to it. I believe the T7 is better priced, better rear shock, and better color. T8 has better fork, and marginally (NOT MUCH) better drivetrain and brakes. For me, I'd probably do the T7 and once I felt up to it, spend the money saved for a better front fork. That's just my 2 cents. Can't go wrong either way!! Great review. I have owned a T7 XL since April 2021 and have had few solid months on it in the mud, heat, dry and ...well I guess I'll see snow/ice soon enough :) . Mine came stock with Hanz Dampf tires but I tend to like almost anything I run in my New England dirt. We have sand, rocks, loam and everything besides clay. If you're losing grip in this corner just wait until the next corner 50 yards away. It can change that fast. To date there have been no issues with the parts, suspension or build. The only thing I have changed is I replaced the grips (Aqua-- hey it's a looks thing), added a bottle cage and replaced the stem that stretches me out a bit. I'm 6'1 with long arms and needed a bit more reach. Personal preference thing as I get used to the geometries in today's bikes. Overall I will give the Polygon 10 out of 10 stars. 5 out of 5 Hot Peppers or whatever I need to show that I like it. And for a comparison thing; over the years I have owned middle of the line bikes with basic components. Specialized, Cannondale, Kona, Diamond Back and KHS. All great bikes but nothing above $2200. It's kind of like I'm doing a budget bike shootout over 30 plus years of riding and racing. :)

How does this bike compare to Giant Stance 29?
@JaredRMorgan
@JaredRMorgan 3 жыл бұрын
It crushes it. Giant hasn’t done much to stay relevant in MTB in my opinion.

@@JaredRMorganI'm considering getting this bike. How would this bike handle rooty and rocky singletrack compared to an aggressive hardtail with a 140 mm Rockshox RL front fork?

@@JaredRMorgan that's for the reply. I'm having a hard time deciding between this one, the Fezzari Abajo peak and the Marin rift zone 2.
