One word of advice is when using a circle hook don’t yank just pull back nicely or let them set it on themselves otherwise if you set the hook super hard it sometimes rips it out of their mouth anyways great video 👍

We always say here, "crank before you yank!" If you crank the handle and not yank the rod, the circle hook will catch the fish right in the corner of the mouth almost every time!

Whenever u use bluegill for bait whether big or small u need to trim the fins off. U'll get way better hook sets. Back in the day I always wondered why I wasn't getting the hook ups while fishing live bait that I shoulda been and an old timer gave me that advice and it truly works wonders

You should try trolling with your canoe in the river. Setup some rods and depths with bait and or lure and just cruise around until you get a bite. I don't know how effective that would be without a fish finder for the schools of fish.
