​@@spinalinjuredcommando1419 Worth every penny to upgrade. Not as fast as the GT3 options in the corners, but a very fun car to drive. Keeps the personality of the GT4, but the straights of the GT3 and the sound of that amazing engine. Made the track day a lot more fun because most people were in cars with a GT3 motor and you feel like you can bomb down the straights together. Still very close in the corners only a few seconds difference on this large of a track, less on smaller tracks.

Wow, considering the relative price points of the 991.2 GT3 RS and the GT4 RS, the mid-engine car is certainly a good value. I wonder how they compare in terms of driving experience. I think even from this video you can see some slight differences in grip with the advantage to the GT3, but I suspect the GT4 has an edge in agility... but with no rear-wheel steer, less stability.

You pretty much nailed it. Amazing what they pulled off to make such a fun mid-engine car that is competitive with their GT3 line-up. On the larger 3-mile side of the track with higher speed sweepers/corners the 3RS had a good advantage. In the slower 2-mile portion where downforce wasn't a factor, the nimbleness of the 4RS helped even it out quite a bit, only seeing a difference in a couple corners. Very impressive and the 4RS driving experience is so high, very engaging. If I had the nannies off, I would have been able to manipulate it more into the corners and get the rear end to rotate more coming in and going through the corner. Kind of had to baby it with it on so it wouldn't activate too much. Would love to try again sometime, loved the car.

Epic video! Glad you finally got to push one on the track. Any noticeable instability under hard braking? Any other tips/info on overall feel? I’ll need some coaching too, soon…

@@ontrack-offroad No instability at all, low or high speed, under braking. Seems the stiffer suspension and additional aero really helps keep it planted. It had some pretty heavy understeer mid-corner, on and off throttle, and the higher speed corners it isn't all that planted. I think more aero, grippier tires, and some alignment/suspension settings changes - this car could be seriously fast. But to the owners point, it is incredibly capable stock - I do think with TC/ESC fully off, I could have accomplished getting rid of some of the understeer. Super fun car - would choose it over most just to go out and have fun, even if it isn't as quick.

Nope, this was just straight from the factory with balanced street alignment. Car can be many seconds faster with some mod's.

What time do you think you could do with this om the East layout? Under 1:52?

I was wondering the same question and time stamped my 1:52.1 lap in the Spyder for comparison. I could only do from start finish to exit of turn 8 then entrance of turn 10 back to start finish. We were about 0.3 seconds faster in the 4RS. I think for 3-mile it would be about 2 seconds faster without passenger and having TC off. So either a high 1:49 or low 1:50 bypass completely stock, which makes sense. That would translate to a high 1:52 to low 1:53 cyclone.

Yeah, probably about 2-2.5 seconds difference here at this larger track. It is more comparable in the corners to a regular 991.2 GT3. I felt the difference from the RS on areas of the track with downforce and where he benefitted from rear-wheel steer. I agree with you.
