@@bekzodakhmadov1674 it’s not the brokers, some may be due to this reason; however a majority of it is the shippers or receivers demanding lower shipping prices. It’s only going to get worse, if the border remains open and if she wins the election you will see drives of illegal immigrants in trucks. You think trucking is bad now, wait until Kamala wins, we haven’t seen anything yet. It’s all about power and money in that order. Many are making millions off of immigration and paying the half of what it cost them to pay an American. Trucking will/has become the bottom feeder industry to support immigrants.

Speaking for myself(a broker)....customers are a huge part of this(thieving brokers too, there is a lot of em)but we had to cut a huge Customer loose after 21 years with them, for the Fact there Dairy(cheese)products at the store went up 200%(example shredded cheese was $1.89@ pack 2 yrs ago, today same pack $5.79@ pack)... we have trucks of our own also.. costs roughly $1.88 a mile to operate, so we spoke with this customer and explained we'd like to be in the $2.55-$2.80 @ mile... there response its not cost effective to them to be above $1.54-$1.78 @ mile... there lanes are all 48 states and Mexico... there cost effective garbage was Geared for us to operate at a loss while they make record profits.... told them we're done after 21yrs... they can use them low-balling Sandal wearing turds, hated it but I put a pencil to it...we have 130 trucks plus dedicated trucks & O/O... Lose $.25-$.35 a mile each truck, each lane... light week say 2500 miles, is $750-$850 eack a week just on my trucks... over $100,000 loss a week... Never gonna happen... heard other folks say the same stuff... there are some customers out there living in fantasy land, without trucks there outta business, we don't wanna get rich, but can't run in the hole either... They'll run outta cheap-shit drivers pretty quick... its Fate.

Good Evening, great video. So if the ILA goes on strike and west coast also out of sympathy, then truck drivers need to join and we can call the Empathy Strike. Look I started in 96’, long over due for some real pain. The American people, shippers & receivers can’t stand drivers either. It all needs to come crashing down and I think it very well may this time. I also believe we are going to see very soon drivers getting out by the masses. Look the bread basket of our country (Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Illinois) the rates in these areas have already dropped. We used to say, “ when these areas fail, we are in serious trouble”, we are there now. To offer a driver/company rates that are $1.20 -$1.90 and expect them to pay tolls, scales, expenses and support their families should be criminal. Stay safe.

These guys know how to keep up with the cost of living. From AP “Analysts say the union’s initial demands included a 77% pay raise over the course of a six-year contract. Daggett, the union president, said sizable pay raises would make up for the inflation spike of the past few years.”

This won’t completely destroy trucking but make it better. Brokers are getting over on truckers along with trucking companies getting over on their drivers, undercutting and over saturating the market with useless office workers who seem to make more than the truckers which has always been crazy to us. The whole supply chain industry needs a restructuring and rebuilding. Not every person will make it out on the other end but that’s actually a good thing because the supply chain industry has been a mess for years. Especially with drivers. If most drivers knew they could make the same check they make now in the restaurant industry, they’d be sick to their stomach. There are far too many scammy brokers. Far too many in Trucking management who don’t do legitimate business, too many unqualified drivers as well. Things need a shaking up. Things need a change.

If the current administration lets the supply chain fall apart this could help get them out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.And here’s probably the best part… that freight isn’t going to evaporate. When it hits the board all at once the rates will most assuredly rise! Okay… that’s a bunch of bleep. We are all doomed. Maybe now is a good time to start that alpaca farm I’ve always wanted.

This is funny. They're demanding a 77% increase in wages, and want assurances of LESS automation, which the companies are doing to cut labor costs. Hopefully they settle this quickly. The port/rail drivers will bear the brunt initially, trickling into the rest of trucking eventually depending on how long it goes on if they do strike. Maybe we should join them and settle all our DOT/Broker gripes, shut down the whole transportation system 😆, I bet the G would get involved then.

I pull containers out of Virginia International Gateway and Norfolk International Terminal here in VA. I talk with the guys and gals who work here and they are dead set on a strike if no agreement is made. The higher ups had a meeting a few months ago and were told to save everything they could leading up to OCT 1st. Not trying to scare people but they have had enough of corporate greed. Frankly I don't blame them but it is going to cripple our economy which is already in shambles. I Pray they come to an agreement. The company I work for had a major meeting today to plan on what they are going to do in the event of the possible strike.

Anything that happens at the ports takes 30 to 60 days for it to be felt in the surface part of transportation. The timing isnt an accident, and Im not worried about the next 3 months by the time it ripples into the economy, it will be past Xmass shopping season and then we are into the winter lull of the freight market. What concerns me is it lasting into the spring and it pushes the entire economy over the cliff. Then it wont just be trucking that gets gutted.

Biden should never be involved directly. We have a secretary of transportation that is aware of this situation and has all the resources to tackle this situation. Americans should make that secretary accountable instead of pointing fingers to the wrong leader. Also, whenever dealing with information like that we have to be careful giving just half of the truth and possibilities and have people rely on that to make decisions because many are not able to filter what is real and what is a possibility leading to a more devising situation and misunderstanding. The best way is to provide direct updates from the department of transportation to people.

You didnt mention the demurrage charges from the shipping company and port. Youre talking millions of storage and container fees. You think inflation is bad now? Wait. Lets see what the hacks do.

When everthing is done automatically everbody will have nothing to do. Then there'll will be nobody to buy anything therefore no need for ports. It's only a matter of time. A hopeless situation unless someone can explain what people will do!

We would ALL be more comfortable if our cost of living wasn't grinding us in the ground. To make our wages 20 years ago that I pull in now I'd be in my terms of rich as heck. Now I'm 44 and not being materialistic at all and taking more cuts than I did at 24 in my spend timeline. If they are going to live rich and comfy off our giving our bodies and family time we should all get a chance to poor salt on their glory
