This 'boss' seems to have forgotten that history is a really good teacher on where things tend to go. The fact he is doing this strike now means his contracts are close to done. Strikes generally spark a fire under the employers to move towards replacing workers with technology and automation. Those dock workers make more than 70% of the US population. Yes, dock workers are important. But that doesn't mean they can't be replaced. McDonalds replaced the bulk of their staff with kiosks and cut the hours of workers by half. The UAW is responsible for the GM company in Ohio shutting down, causing thousands to lose their jobs. This 'boss' needs a reality check. The dock work might be important, but so too were rail workers, phone operators who connected the physical lines for calls, and many other jobs that were eventually replaced by technology and automation. And strikes like this incentivize companies to seek more automation.

Nah. No one remembers the backlog of ships off the California coast any more. The minute it's back to business as usual, people have short memories. What WILL happen, though, is people are going to feel it for the holidays, in a collapsing economy. And that is ALWAYS blamed on the incumbent, KAMALA HARRIS. If this strike continues past Thanksgiving, it's at least a YEAR of recovery time. And that means a lot of goods people want for their holiday festivities aren't going to be available, or will cost 2-3 times as much. Baking goods from Europe, foods, Christmas gifts... this is the union ENDORSING DONALD TRUMP without SAYING they're endorsing Donald Trump. More inflation should equal immediate wage increases to compensate (trust me, companies don't feel inflation for a second, their prices increase immediately to cover it). And wages should then increase by the same percentage as profits do over a particular period, on top of inflation increases.
