PC Compatibility is a must if I'm ever going to buy a pair [of any glasses]. Wifi6, capable of gigabit wireless streaming. Plus a simple standalone OS/phone connecticity for portability. I would definitely use these late at night in my tent when camping remotely, I use my Quest 2 at the moment + Bigscreen for watching sci-fi and fantasy shows on a huge virtual screen. I would love to just be wearing glasses to do that, but make it as immersive as VR, so light blocker addons for the glasses as well. Then again.... glasses FOV can't ever compete with VR headsets for immersion. Arrgrgh, I want glasses as immersive as VR and Gigabit PC streaming + simple standalone OS. Make it so!

Since you have tested multiple of these glasses, what is your current goto for the SteamDeck? I'm currently thinking about Xreal Air 2 + Beam for 3dof, but of course then I need multiple cables and have to charge multiple batteries.
@xuimod

Beam isn't necessary. Get Victure adapter, let's you use the AR glasses and charge the steam deck at the same time.

@@xuimod Got the Air 1 + Beam now, couldn't live without the 3dof tbh, the 0dof iPad output without smoothing was absolutely nauseating during a train ride for me (at home in a chair or in the bed it doesn't matter of course). The clutter of cables and not being able to charge is still horrendous though.

make them compatible with pc (get rid of the phone and make it a stand alone so it does not kill or melt your phone) have the lenses customizable for glasses wearers and improve the image to or better than vr and that is about half my vr headset needs taken care of and i would drop 1-2k to do that until then cool toy but not for me. they are not convenient they are situational, its not like pulling out your phone like they want you to think but it is like sitting down for a movie that takes 5-15min to get situated before you can start enjoying them.

@@Tyrielwood awesome. How was the 3D? When you compare it to VorpX, is it geometry 3D or normal 3D. WRC 23 doesn't have VR support yet. At the moment I'm using that program but only Z normal zAdaptive 3 D is available with VorpX since it is dx12

@@Tyrielwood I'm not sure that I get to choose. Mind you I've never had to worry since the 3D just gets accepted by the connected LG TV. I was more thinking about what to connect the player HDMI output into. I have over 100 3D Blu-Ray and I'm looking for a second way to watch them in case my LG dies.

@@dominicgiglio-tos5982 Yes I have been planning to get a projector as a way to keep my 3D going. So am I to understand that none of the AR/VR options would let me connect to my 3D Blu-Rays? They would seem to be ideal (in theory) in terms of providing amazing 3D with no cross-talk.

I tried these glasses and I ended up sending them back because there's no pupillary distance settings. My eyes are wider than the center of the lens. I read a lot of comments saying that the edges of the screens are blurry and the reason why is? It's that their pupils are set wider than the center of the OLED panels. Why don't these companies make an adjustment for pupillary distance. My Quest 2 has an adjustment widen the lenses. I also tried the new Rayneo glasses and they are the same.

Is a video in these glasses attached to the real world, like you can watch a movie on some wall, or is it fixed to glasses, so it's always in the same position in front of you?

3840 x 1080 at 201" is only 19.85 PPI. That is EXTEMELY low! I don't care what marketing speak they use, math is math. I'll admit I am curious how they will look and if you can somehow shrink the virtual screen size to get a tighter PPI.
@NeseComedy
@NeseComedy 6 ай бұрын
I agree that the marketing with big screen size numbers is stupid, but the 49 PPD (not PPI!) are correct. The virtual "201" inch "TV" is focused at a distance of 6 meters/20 feet away, the farther away you go from a TV the more pixels per degree reach your eyeball. So they did exactly what you proposed, they put it further away so it's smaller and the pixels are more dense, the drawback of this is the smaller field of view it fills in front of you, but that does not really matter for watching content like on a TV. To put it into perspective for people to try it at home (using the first PPD Calculator I found on Google): 49 PPD is equal to FHD 27" from 84cm (33") away QHD 27" from 61cm (24") away UHD 27" from 37cm (15") away

Really interesting, thank you for that info. I would be using it for mobile big screen gaming from a gaming laptop. So I am use to very high PPI. @@NeseComedy
@frankli4124

Size doesn't matter in this case, it's the angular resolution that matters. I don't have the numbers but calculating ppi at 200 inches is misleading.
@PCPAyLOAD
@PCPAyLOAD 6 ай бұрын
@@frankli4124 19.85 PPI is the exact calculation. But I am still learning how that translates to perceived distance from a mini OLED panel and the PPD calculations
@antjones2281
@antjones2281 6 ай бұрын
The math isn't telling you the whole picture. (pun intended) I have a pair of nReal Airs which are similar, and the PPD is actually 49PPD. It's the first time I've seen a virtual screen that was so hi def I actually work (coding) in them. The trick to these smart glasses is that there is kind of an optical illusion regarding how big you perceive the size of the screen. You kind of just need to try it, I guarantee you will be surprised.

@@rushmore3927 Thx for your reply. Several people pointed out that they were sure that the blurry edges were from the eye-center width not matching with the center of the lenses. To me that sounds logical. By asking you maybe by this i could come one big step closer to be 100 percent sure. All the comments that told that were men. While comments from woman not once talked about blurry edges. Some deduction my dear Data. 😇 Although there are also under woman some very big M.F. 🙈 Although i was so happy with VR from Samsung ages ago. Great to watch a movie. So when a few days back i became aware of Video-glasses i thought " Yes ! " But after reading a lot of comments (most of the time more honest information) now sadly i am leaning towards waiting for the next generations to come out. Probably those will make us more happy. And probably there are VR headsets that currently can do those two jobs like watching video and using it for virtual monitor(s) much better. But i have zero knowledge about that. And i have seen types that also carry a shitload on the back of the head. And i do not want to take a kitchen knife and dig a hole in my matras. Only a strap ok. But still will prefer the lightness and ease of use of those glasses like Xreal and so on i think. Although that a VR headset is light-isolated could be a big plus ? Not sure but i could imagine this. Although you have an expensive beamer. On a sunny and bright day it still makes a different when you close the curtains to make the surrounding darker. And also a Xreal with a Beam add-on is still a lot of money for me. And i try to strain myself with impulsive buying. Ohwww, so difficult.😮‍💨😵‍💫😵‍💫😱 The money that i have thrown away by that throughout my life ? Atleast a big ass Tesla or two. 🤤 But excuse me. My train arrived so i have to stop.😁
