The special effects designers of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire were tasked with creating some "possessed" props that could be remote controlled and animated on set, including a lively CD player that has quite a bite! Adam looks under the hood of these animatronic props and gets a demonstration of their operation.

Dear Savage, This may be completely beneath you, but I always wondered what your take on an estes custom model rocket would be. Easy one day build even if you had a pro series rocket.

You were so kind to him.Its nice to see you fake all that excitement for him.The phrase,"20 years ago that would have been difficult" killed me,as in,nowadays Grant would have had that done better in 30 seconds lol

I am honestly in love with the fact that they are doing a lot of practical effects. It would have been 'easy' to say CGI this or CGI that little thing. But we can tell. I am glad you have fun there, Adam!

Yes! I was most impressed that the glass shattering is practical. That's only done CGI now. Though I won't be watching the movie because I want a comedy Ghostbusters. Still applaud them for going practical. But no effects can make up for a script you fundamentally disagree with.

I’m happy to also see that they are going “old school” in making their own REAL props instead of some cheesy CGI. All this is not cheap though. Let’s hope the movie does well when it comes out.

@@onslaught147i am ok without it being a comedy. But I found 2016 funny and most people wouldnt even watch it. My problem is the child labor. Is the kid at least 18 in this one? OSHA would have major issues with afterlife

Back on the 90 I got one of those sport discman for a birthday, and that hinge was actually strong many times I struggled to open it, and the first thing I’ve taught when I’ve seen the same model was how they achieved to move that hinged lock before opening the top part, and the way was made its truly magnificent, I believe that the true heroes of the cinema are all those incredible people behind the camera, that you can’t see directly but you can see their outstanding work

that hand crank might also be done with a lighter material hand and a black string from the knuckles to a weight. that'd keep the hand approximately aligned to a person turning it. and an invisible string wouldn't be hard to hide in the dark lighting. also quicker and easier to create and fix. but, not as flexible, if you actually want to make it spin at a different rate than the handle.

A common misconception is that old phonographs had to be constantly wound. Actually the crank would be turned 10 to 20 times to wind up a spring. and then the cylinder would be switched on and play the record. (Of course I suppose if ghosts are possessing something all bets are off. Ha)

Speaking of props and whatnot.. The MythBusters blueprint room was FULL of props.. What happened to them all? And even as the "straight man"- I'd be willing to bet Jamie does wander into that room to sit and reminisce, remembering the good times with Adam. While they drove eachother batty, I'd bet my life that Jamie misses Adam a lot more than he lets on and Adam just kinda left Jamie behind.
