Jimmy you are a wonderful player and instructor . You explain things so people understand it. And it sound fantastic. Great teacher with none of the bs that most try to confuse players with. I thoroughly enjoyed this lesson.

To my ears, just playing the C scale with a nice melody with no outside notes, it swings nicely just doing that. I like the comment about it's okay to hold onto a note and the flip-side comment about not liking the outside line that was played because it was too busy sounding. Flashy fast lines are impressive for sure, but give me a simple nice melody that swings and I'm digging it.

What you played is a lost art. Your generation, and older could really play. Beautiful melodic lines that compliment the song.... it's a lost art. Too much left brain theory has everyone just going outside after 4 measures playing a bunch of bs. It's harder to keep creating melodic statements where every note means something....with the feel like you just did!!!! Could listen to you all day!

I watched the interview you recently did, where you said all the instruments can't be on the same part of the beat. Man, that is so right. Every classical i listen to has the low strings - (bass, cello); lagging the violins and violas. It's like a physical law. It's an immutable law of music. The non rushing law.

Thanks for making life simple. Does this technique work for 1 6 2 5 or for rhythm changes on the a section? I always had trouble with soloing over rhythm changes because I 'm thinking about the scales that go over each chord. Any thoughts on how to simplify soloing over rhythm changes.
@tombstoneharrystudios5844 жыл бұрын
Guitar 6 School of Music I’ve been influenced by the Charlie Christian style of playing...musicians used to treat the A section as one big I chord, and embellishing the basic scale with chord tones or chromatics as the ear dictates...try it!
