Really well done video Doriyan. I shot (and processed) black and white film for over 35 years, and now that I mostly shoot digital, I still do it in black and white. Be well.

lately i've been batch rendering all my photos in fuji x raw studio with a B&W recipe and a portra 400 recipe just so i can look at them from different perspectives and its definitely making me think more about how i want to focus on subjects or lighting if the actual photo just doesnt seem to be working in colour.

That’s a smart way to go about it!

I agree with you, I shoot colour but black and white is my favourite choice nine times out of ten.

Same. Most of my favorite images of my catalog are in B&W!

Great videos! But you need to have an outro. When the video ends right with you finishing your sentence there is no time for the viewer to visit your channel or give a like after watching the video because the next video already started.

One of the most important things with black and white photography is the greyscale. I see so many horrible greyscales theses days that look so artificial, unnatural and what I would call "digital plastic" with extremely flat midtones and highlights too close to "blown out" or just simply blown out. This is an exposure issue AND a post production issue. Another BIG problem is the overuse of the red filter which give white people ghost-white skin! HORRIBLE! As a standard, red filter is only for use in landscape /nature photography OR in controlled studio environment portraits /scenes. It just does NOT work for any kind of people photography in natural light in normal circumstances.

I have to agree with you on the Red filter part. Sparingly have I seen it work in a flattering manner with any sort of prominent skin tones.
