Yes!!! The power of Rock Bottom for me was turned into a book. The craziness had to be written. I lost myself and had to start over after that crazy marriage. The book is called Blinded. Look for it on Amazon by my pen name K.R. Brumfield. For a while I was hesitant about writing it, but too many people encouraged me to release it in 2008 telling me that the story could help so many others. I learned that our personal incidents aren't always just for us to learn from, but others can learn from them as well. Great video & points Dr. Boyce!

Rock bottom is always there for you to start over and build. You can either rush building something that might last long enough to take you high, or you can put in time and effort and build a foundation that will not only support you but allow others to climb up and expand with you. I've hit rock bottom 2 year consecutively.

After years of poor planning, decisions and spending, I've finally hit rock bottom. In the last year I've lost my place,car and all my personal belongings. I have nobody to blame but myself. I've told my friends that I'm taking time away from it all and will not be sending receiving texts,calls or emails for a while until I get my life back on track and my finances corrected. I'm the only one responsible for the fucked up life I'm living now and I'm the only one who can dig myself out and be the man everyone thought I was

I hit Rock bottom not once but twice in one year. The sad part is I put myself there and no one else was to blame but me. No matter what I did it got worse till eventually I lost everything and I was homeless. I'm a stubborn person and finally I gave in and ask for help and thankful I had supportive family and friends and God bless me. I was able to get my life back to back together.

Thank you so much for this. I'm 37 and definitely hit a rock bottom. I am a single mom and my life seemed to be getting on track but then I found myself on a downward spiral and now, I'm penninless, sick, unemployed and basically homeless. (Living with a friend) I thought about suicide as a fleeting though but I don't want to give up. I just don't know where to start or how to reconcile the trajectory I had envisioned for myself with where I am now. I feel so low and lost. But I also feel like I didn't come this far to give up. My daughter deserves so much better.

Nella Rohan I feel everything you said I've been there as well. Working endless hrs and end up not a cent to my name. Sleeping in my truck or a friend's place. Wanting to breakdown and cry or just wanting commit suicide but my pride wouldn't let me. Coming back from all that was hard but the Lord, Family and Friends help me and I have them to thank to help me get my life back.

I've just hit rock bottom in my 28 years. Loss my job in what I thought was a great career and could no longer focus in my graduate program. Resulting from that I had to leave my great adult life behind in Dallas to break my lease and move back home to Houston. In 3 months of moving back I have not been able to land a job in my desired field and funds from my savings have now depleted. I've struggled with depression and have considered giving up. I'm trying to keep the faith and move forward with hope that I will be fine in the long run

This is a great video and great wisdom. Thank you for sharing your story--really resonated with me right now. It has helped me put things into perspective and realize what things in my life aren't working anymore. I love the last bit about living through your worst nightmare and realizing that you'll still be okay. I’m in the process of leaving this man Iv been with for about 7 months I moved way to fast and now i feel stuck because he convinced me to leave everything I had behind and get on a trucking career and now all he says is I have no patience but since Iv been out here Iv done lost who I was and who I was wanting to become I am at rock bottom but I have no money no family and no friends no one to trust but God. Slowly but surly finding a solution to where I will never be in the hands of a man ever again.

this was very much needed. i live in a predominantly white community and lost my job a few weeks ago and it seems as tho its hard as hell to get another job here bcuz all of the good jobs are worked and ran by white ppl. i even said ill settle for fast food for the time being and those jobs are ran by whites too so ive had no luck. i have the strength and the mind to keep going but im trying to find a different direction. so i know exactly what it means to see no way out but this message was every bit of encouragement that i needed. thank u

No disrespect or anything,but does Dr. Boyce Watkins own any businesses himself since he's always encouraging other black people to own their own business and having these financial classes/lectures. Did he and Dr. Umar Johnson settle their beef with each other because I would love for these two brilliant brothers to work together and build a school for black kids one day.
