I've had Nature's Lore and Wood Elves a while, but it took a plentiful source of forest-duals to start running them across decks that otherwise I wasn't going to invest in dual-lands for.

We need more reprints of Mana Confluence. A box topper and a Secret Lair isn’t good enough. The land I want to see reprinted the most, however, is Tarnished Citadel. It first came out in Odyssey and has not seen a single reprint , in any form, since. The card has been over $20 for YEARS.

I like Soldevi Adnate with evoke creatures. Evoke Shriekmaw for 2, sac it to the Adnate and gain 5 mana. Especially nice in my Muldrotha deck where I can use the mana to immediately cast or evoke it again.

Cards that immediately come to mind for much-needed reprints because they've gone through the roof price-wise: Greater Auramancy, Tower of the Magistrate, the Mirage tutors, Ancient Tomb, Urza's Incubator, Bribery, Skyshroud Poacher (Moggcatcher and Seahunter at least got on The List; Skyshroud Poacher has only ever been printed once).

The diamond cycle may not be particularly very good but if you are making like a $50 budget deck, they are one of your best options. Most of your other 2 mana ramp are at least $0.75 if not 1 or 2 bucks. That may not be too cost prohibited but if you are making a strict budget deck on order to cap power level, those dollar cards sure add up.

Reserve list is bad and should be repealed. You actually want tawnos' coffin, not tawnos' stronghold that flips into coffin of tawnos if you control at least 3 auras attached to creatures

I have to wonder about the Mortarion challenge- Dana said you pay x where X is the amount of life you “gained” but the card says x cannot be more than the amount of life you lost… if you didn’t lose any life you can’t pay any mana. I would imagine that you put both triggers on the stack, lose life to make the demon for Tivash and then resolve the Mortarion trigger? Is that how it works?

The set that I really appreciate is Double Masters. It had reprints of a lot of artifact staples I couldn't afford otherwise. Like Master Transmuter, Grand Architect, Kuldotha Forge Master, Muzzio, Reshape and more

I've been wanting a Fiendish Duo for my Purphoros deck forever, but the price point is way too high. The Game Night products are a bunch of bad reprints with only 5 new cards each time, and it's inevitable that one or two get really expensive.

I built my wife an Alela Anthems deck and it runs just about every 2cmc rock that exists. Not only do they provide faeries later in the game, but they increase the consistency of the T2 ramp, T3 commander line.

I feel like the diamonds are popular in mono-color decks specifically. You probably have the numbers, but I'd guess that its budget, single colored decks that can't run multiple signets/talismans that run them most often

For reprints, I would love new arts for necromancy, dance of the dead, mystic remora, hermit druid, field of the dead could use a second artwork aswell, and I do like the artwork from it, but wasteland could use a norther reprint aswell. And terramorphic expanse and myriad landscape need new artworks I think

Old Gnawbone, Exquisite blood, divining top, OG vorinclex, Urborg,etc. the only list pull I haven’t hit that needed a reprint are the tempest/c14 medallions. Especially since the condensing of the list I feel like it really does put enough supply out to deflate the price

Diamonds are far from optimal but now we just have them lying around after a few drafts or pack opening. When I finish building my deck up it's more way less of a hassle to just sleeve them up and call it a day than buying the best ones. When I'll have time and budget sure I'll upgrade, but they do the job.

Dana says that wotc could just give the three visits treatment to riding the dilu horse but something that's getting glossed over with both is that they have pretty specific ties to rotk lore (it took three visits to recruit kongming, and the dilu horse is (you guessed it) one specific horse). What wotc should do instead is give the nature's lore treatment to riding the dilu horse and print a second functionally identical version so i can give my commander TWO noble steeds.

All the cards you named except Mirrorpool are on there, and sadly, that list isn't going anywhere. (Also, Mirrorpool is nowhere near expensive enough to justify a reprint yet.)

Diamonds are a bigger deal when you have commanders with a particular casting cost, for example my rakdos lord of riots deck has some accelerants so it can ramp provided I can't get my damage plan out but I need them to be colored because then theyll be useful whether rakdos is on the battlefield or not, because it helps me cast rakdos or helps me cast anything with colored mana off of rakdos

Okay I really don't think people realize how few mana rocks there are for mono colored decks. I just did a search for blue mana rocks and there are a total of 15 mana rocks that are under 10 dollars and 2 mana or less that you can use in the average deck. Only 5 of which make colored mana and only 2 of which come into play untapped. So I think the diamonds while not ideal still usually make the cut in mono colored decks. Except green. Why anyone is playing that one I dont know. Green artifact decks? Still doesn't make the cut probably.

Riku was reprinted in Double Masters. Zedruu got a reprint as an Etched Foil in Commander Legends (and that reprint, according to Scryfall, costs about a dollar).

Re:diamonds, I do think the colored mana is valuable. And they come in tapped but after that they are reliable, with no tax and not a wingding. If a talisman is already in the deck... and both types of signet, and they grab a felwar stone.... yeah diamonds aren't even 5th or 6th on my list of includes. It's really gotta be the availability. Around my area CLB was being sold almost at cost bc double masters had smashed it's face in. This reminds me of when I was a kid I bought Cronicles and Fallen Empires because they were cards for less money. More cards more better, right? I could see those packs being handed out as prizes and gifts, and they had a lot of those diamonds bc they were in the alt art auto slot as well as the main common slots. So proliferation with simplicity and reliability appeals to new or restricted deck builders.

I only recently got back in to Commander. The decks I am building, I want the commander to NOT be one you'll see all the time. Yeva, Nature's Herald; Admiral Beckett Brass .. but at the same time, hard to resist building a nice deck, even though everyone knows what is going to happen, for example, Edgar Markov or Ur-Dragon. Years ago, when Atraxa first came out, I grabbed it and built a super friends deck with her at the helm. It took a lot of tweaking, trial and error, etc., but I eventually got it pretty good (could have used more tweaking, but I eventually pulled the deck apart).

The thing I don't agree with Dana's evaluation of Diamonds. Most of the time they kinda feel like a signet. When you play a signet on turn 2 most of the time they don't generate mana right away. Would mostly play them in mono-colored or dual colored decks that does not have green. And it's not really a budget argument.

My biggest problem with them is when they're drawn in the late game. Rocks like the ones they suggested in its place do other things that can give you an immediate advantage in some situations. Even if they still enter tapped. Diamonds are fine rocks, but other rocks can be even just slightly better most of the time.

35:30 Reconnaissance literally has the oracle text that is printed on the original card that is shown in the episode though. It being able to deal combat damage and then be removed from combat to untap it is more just you needing to understand the fact that there's a post-damage step in the combat phase. But there's no way to word it other than how it is correctly worded. The same is true for Ninjutsu; you can do it in the post-damage step even though it's not immediately obvious from the rules text.

Riding the Dilu Horse is a stupid card that seems weirder in context of the large number of older cards that had errata so that they'd 'work more as intended', and there is no way it was intended to work this way so IDK, it's like WotC is not using errata here 100% because people own copies, pretty sure other stuff had to have 'until end of turn' added even. Edit: You know what? If they're going to keep Dilu Horse in it's present form, they should undo the errata they did to Relic Bind, there was no reason to nerf that card beyond all words, the card went from being a nifty way to win to being perhaps the worst way to deal with an infinite combo (you use it at Sorcery Speed, it only hits artifacts, it targets, and it doesn't even destroy the artifact, it just mildly annoys the opponent for each use) ever printed. At least be consistent people!

My only real issue with the 40k precons is the amount of speculation on them and how hard will be for anything in them to get a meaningful reprint, its ok to like them, but it just doesnt fells right for me, because by doing so, you are telling wizards that this sort of thing is ok, in a similar way how companies like gamefreak uses the love of the players for the pokemon franchise to excuse bad choices, because they will buy it anyways.

I believe that because Tivash and Mortarion’s effects trigger at the same time, regardless of how you decide to arrange the triggers, Mortarion will not see the life lost from Tivash’s ability. If that’s the case, Mortarion will have a harder time fitting with the deck (you could still have plenty of synergies, just not with the commander).

I am happy to see cards that people want to play actually getting into their hands. But the demand has increased so much and WotC has not changed their reprint policy nearly enough to keep up with demand. I've converted my decks to nearly 100% proxy and have been encouraging my play group to do the same, because it's not like we're taking these decks to tournaments. We're just playing for fun. There's no reason any of us should be spending $30 on a piece of rules text when we can get an equally beautiful one for 30 cents. Now I make more decks than I used to, and can branch out into other formats that do require sanctioned cards! Highly recommend.

I thought this would have some comparisons of 2nd reprint impact, 3rd reprint impact, etc. on both play rates and/or prices. This is just "cards that badly needed reprints" and "cards we hope are reprinted". Nothing wrong with that! Reconnaissance does exectly what is says on the cards. It's not the failt of the card that the end of combat step exists and not enough people know. Thr oracle text is literally exactly the same as the text on the printing from exodus!!!

The concern that "if we put too much reprint value in a precon then new players won't have access to it" is a farce. First off, anyone who thinks WotC cares about access hasn't been paying attention. The secret lairs are designed around inflating prices based on limited supply. But secondly, excess reprint value causing inaccess would only happen in one or two products and then the price of those reprints would drop, making the next product's demand drop and therefore be available. The fact is, it is in WotC's best interest to keep format staples high and to trickle these reprints in the way they have been. If they give us a half dozen chase cards per masters set to drool over, we will continue to clean every box off the shelf just like we have been for the last ten years or so. We don't get effective reprints on staples exactly because it does tank the price. WotC wants those 100 or so cards to be grossly inflated because it makes sure that the price of future sets remains grossly inflated.

Shadowblood Ridge went from a high of ~3 dollars to a current price of under 25cents meaning it has become 1/12th the cost. That puts those cards in significantly different price categories. Skycloud Expanse went from ~6 dollars high to current market price of 10 cents representing 1/60th of the cost. Obviously people will play cards when they are affordable. Reprint equity is a scam, these are pieces of cardboard and ink they should cost a quarter. Let's play the game, get finance bros out of MtG.

you aren't seeing the problem here. Standard is WotC's baby, it just is and if they reprint these powerful cards in any meaningful way it has to be in a STANDARD set and that is not happening. Personally I think they should just kill off standard, but it is their baby, its their main printing purpose, thats why these cannot all get meaningful reprints.

They are printing 2 to 5 precons for every set + horizons + legends + the list + several cards that are not legal in standard IN standard boosters. There is plenty opportunity to reprint staples without hurting standard.

It is funny how the end of the episode is all about complain that there aren't enough meaningful reprints yet a majority of WOTC R&D is making products that are commander specific so it makes the reprints less likely because they want you to buy the new stuff at a premium. WOTC doesn't want to add the reprints because they valve when they want to make another master set that will drive even more demand and profits. Magic 30 might have been a bust because it was a terrible idea with a terrible product but don't think that they aren't already planning on the next money grabbing scheme. Commander is the current cash cow and when they want to, they can make a set with all the chase reprints. The most recent set has reprinted diabolic intent, unwinding clock, and Mox Amber. But that is just a taste. The next Jumpstart has Rhystic Study and who knows what else. Your wish will come true but only if it meet the WOTC shareholders demands.

The P9 are banned in every format, and only playable in Vintage (restricted). Their only value is as collectible pieces. If we are going to reprint Reserved List cards, I would rather have the OG Duals, Whell of Fortune and Cradle

Power 9? Bring it!
