This is one of the hardest lessons to learn. There's been plenty of times I've told people about myself and what I'm doing and realized they never needed that much info about me. And I hate when it replays in my head. 😩

I'm struggling so much with this. But ny mom keeps telling me this, even when I travel she tells me not to tell anyone, post my travel when I get back because people and family are evil and can say bad things. Even moneywise she tells me to keep it to myself. So yeah I definitely am trying to practice keeping quiet.

Very insightful video, Big Kam. I'll add just two more. If you've spilled on something or shared more than you should, and you get questions or check-ins on that, stop yourself from continuing the cycle. Smile it off. Deflect. Say something like, "Oh, that? You don't want to know." If they say they want to know, insist they do not want to. Do something other than feed into the impulse. The second would be to be pick up people skills, understand social cues, work on your charisma. It sounds contradictory to moving in silence, but if you do it well, soon, people would realize they know of you and not you. I'm sorry. I know I said two, but a third would be you need a best friend, a buddy, a sister, a something. Sometimes, we share more than we should (to the wrong persons) because we weren't sharing in the first place. If you've talked about something a million times over with your best friend, trust me, you'd be so uninspired to talk about it with another.

“You owe nobody any explanation” is what I constantly tell myself in this new phase I’m in. As a public figure people will always have something to say, rumors will be spreading left and right. It’s better to be silent, give them the Lori Harvey & wizkid treatment ❤️

Something I've learnt and still learning is to not divulge too much information. Being a free minded person i say certain things that i shouldn't even say to just anyone. I've discovered that being intentional about not sharing too much really helps.

I think have gotten to a point in my life where I gradually open up to people. What i do that works for me,well I have very few friends and for me to share something to you, i will analyze the way you talk about people and the way you share stuffs your friends share in confidence and this will help me know the kind of person you are not what to share or not to share

I am a victim of these and I am honestly Grateful to see Kamsi speak about my weaknesses. I am intentionally unlearning these habits especially that number 4, I always feel like I owe my friends all explanations when the whole time they really don’t care, they just want to know what’s happening in my life… I had someone in my life who I thought was a friend to me, I confided in her and told her everything about myself (I mean everything) this person went round telling people everything I told her including people that she is very much aware of their hate for me. What pains me most is she telling them about a life threatening incident that happened to me and I told her about it ( I don’t want to go deep into this as it is too hurtful )… This is someone that I single handedly celebrated her surprised bridal shower when all her other friends didn’t show up. Well, I’ve learnt my lessons as my mum always told me that my problems in life will come from friends and I didn’t listen…. Thank you Kamsi for this video ❤

1)Listen more and talk less When you talk less your words hold more weight and you avoid over sharing. 2)Learning to not defend yourself Especially when they have their minds made up 3)Learn to play the fool sometimes You don’t need to attack people for every information you hear they did,just learn to protect yourself from them 4)You owe NOBODY an explanation •You do not need to answer every question especially if it’s rude •Respond to unnecessary questions with questions •Don’t ask questions you don’t want to be asked •Be more assertive 5)Keep your plans to yourself •Delayed gratification is better than instant gratification •saves you the stress from dealing with things from people

@ThroughBrookesEyes
@ThroughBrookesEyes 2 жыл бұрын
I hate to think I talk too much but I know for a fact that in my struggling moments, (guilt, need to be understood) I’ve shared a lot more than I should and then sometimes it turns into a fight and then it clicks… they didn’t deserve that explanation. I’m beginning to learn that people often times decide to misunderstand you cos it feeds their crazy selves. Funny right? Yeah, humans are complex. Then the part of getting out of character with people. It’s always due to see finish. Surprisingly, I hardly share on social media, like I never feel the need to comment or have an opinion on every thing. That keeps me sooooo sane. Vulnerability on this internet highway is expensive and I don’t ever want to be a scape goat. Being the smartest person in the room. Damn sisssss I get so irritated that I use want to screammmm, “can you just hold your horses.” There is so much power in silence. Sitting in silence is definitely one of the things I’m learning to do based on experience of “sharing.” I battle shame and guilt as an inherent emotion and that makes me share unnecessary details cos I feel if I do maybe they’ll understand me. (Some PTSD shit) I’ve been doing a lot of work on my self with regards this. Loving myself and knowing that they don’t need to know about my past or struggle to live and accept me. I mean I’m not VICTIM. If they love me understand me and want me around, great!!! And if not, GREAT. Don’t share your plans before the process is forthcoming. Cos I mean, if it doesn’t come through, you’re gonna have to do some explanation cos I mean, you put it out there. So much to learn. ❤❤

Hi Kamsi Girl!!!! U've hit the nail at the right spot 😇😇😇👏👏👏, uve said it as it is Girl!! Kudos to you girl!!!! Nobody is ever obliged to disclose what we don't have to, even to our loved ones, not to talk less of an outsider🤐🤐🤐🤐 some people are too nosy 🤬🤬🤬, we need to tell them to shut the f××× up, when they start prying into ones business, no one owes anyone any explanation. As you mentioned, the village people will twist the information they may have about the person out of proportion, in order to have 5 minutes of fame. Tell the village people to go on si òúń, LOL. I bet your advice will go a long way to everybody and to Kamsi Gang, Gang!!!!!, let's continue haling our Sister. Greeeeeeeat vlog girl
