The Power of The 5 Spirits in Chinese Medicine

Are you familiar with the 5 spirits in Chinese medicine? The Hun, Po, Yi, Zhi and Shen are all at the core of balancing mind, body and spirit in TCM.
According Chinese medicine 5 elements theory, each corresponds to 5 colours, organs, tissues, climate, seasons, taste and much more, but often we don't mention the 5 spirits. ☯️
Today I’m going to share the purpose of each of the 5 spirit according to Chinese medicine, what organ they’re connected to, what they look like when in balance and especially when out of balance, and what best acupuncture points can support each of the 5 spirit.

Geeky SHEN and Heart (the organ) fact: it has only been in last 20 years that Western Science discovered special Brain 🧠 like nerve cells in the Heart organ, which validates a physiological basis for SHEN. The esteemed publication, Frontier writes; “It has been found that the heart comprises an intrinsic neural system that contributes not only to the decision-making process but also the short-term and long-term memory. There are approximately 40,000 cells present in the heart known as SENSORY NEURITES, which play a vital role in memory transfer. The heart is quite a mysterious organ, which functions as a blood-pumping machine and an endocrine gland, as well as possesses a nervous system.
