A melee supernova run is do-able, especially with high science and the science hammer you can get early on. But the thing that makes it too irritating to me is getting concussion or maim effects, which are common in the early game. It’s no fun to have to fast travel home to sleep away the damage just because a canid bit you. For Melee in supernova it’s a must to me to never recruit or use any companions. They add less than the Perks you can get without them (and you save money by not equipping them) but most of all you never get concussed by them firing ranged attacks at the enemy you’re fighting hand to hand Personally I think supernova is quite fun with ranged weapons, with heavy weapons being the easiest to me (flamethrower with sneak and silencer, LMG, pulse cannon), then long guns, then handguns.
