I would argue that melee combat in general, in real life, is optimized for duels. As a long-time martial artist, you learn pretty quickly that multiple attackers is a real problem. I don't think this is a fault of the game, so much as a reality of fighting in general. Many games artificially make multiple attackers easier to handle in combat. It is simply not realistic and in most cases downright laughable. I'm glad this game is like it is. Even chivalry 2 makes all kinds of concessions for fighting multiple people. I'm sure other folks who fight will agree with me. I'm sure many who haven't will argue that they could easily manage it. You can learn with practice, but it's still crazy dangerous and there's a decent element of luck involved. But that being said, there's some luck involved with most combat anyway. At least half of what is going on is outside of your control even in a 1v1, and folks are very unpredictable. It's so refreshing to see that done well in a game.

seems like parrying mutants and larger cannibals doesnt have an effect on health or stamina, so it may be better than blocking still

17:20 - "Shying" ... is that when my horse rears up and throws me when I get ambushed by lightly armed bandits when traveling in the early game? They wouldn't be hard to deal with normally, but I'm always caught without my weapon drawn and surrounded and wounded almost immediately. That horse really pisses me off sometimes!

Have updates changed trading? I've been trying to play a merchant playthrough and I'm a year into the character and have only made like 5k. The only upside I've had is the trade skill increase
