GamerZakh First strategy game i got. Was too young to appreciate it, tbh.

I remember it fondly and was late for school many times because of this game. :) But the management of a large kingdom with numerous counties becomes overwhelmingly tedious. I wish there was an automated system like the steward from the first game, ideally with somewhat imperfect efficiency so as to keep a reason for the player to take management personally in times of hardship.

Yeah, I played it a ton back in the day. I only had a couple of friends who even knew what the game was that I would play with. The voice acting was indeed a simple and yet very cool touch. Duuuuuude! this was my first strategy game when i was a little italian child of 10yo. With almost zero knowledge of english but with intuition and a dictionary i learned all mechanics and a ton of new words, gaining then the teacher's appreciation that year. Then i played a lot of Tzar: The Burden Of the Crown that was fully italian translated, but Lotr2 was something else. Of all avaible maps i remember one which recreated modern italy with all its regions being counties, very nice.

@Karlthegreat842 жыл бұрын
I'm late to the party, I'm aware. The third part was still amazing considering the circumstances. It could evidently have been a blockbuster, but it wasn't due as Sierra was winding down. The team was much reduced and as far as I remember from a lone contact person doing all the online commenting, it was pretty much a rush to get it out at the very last possible moment. It's a terrible shame Ubisoft or whever it was bought and closed down most of Sierra.

I would always play the exact same strategy every map: 1) 0% to get happiness up to 100. This would be better for my people and allow for immigration, increasing my population. 2) Sell the swords. 3) Buy grain and always have a mixed diet for the people, using advanced farming to get a higher return on the grain, leaving about 1/3 (I think it was) of the fields fallow. 4) Make weapons and sell them for stone to get a Royal Castle. I didn't care much for any of the others. 5) Put your tax up so that the happiness lost from it equals the happiness gained from other sources, so that happiness is always at 100. 6) Fill the Royal Castle with archers. 7) Just build an army of knights and storm the whole map. 8) If it was a big map, I would make smaller armies and run them around destroying the opponents crops and villages.

It's such a shame what happened to Sierra. A company that big and that successful had no right being fleeced by scammers. Let this be a lesson to anyone who questions a woman's intuition. Roberta Williams thought CUC was a highly suspicious company and no one wanted to listen to her. Then she carried along guilt over what happened to Sierra because that was her and Ken's baby. She deserves a million apologies.
