Umfa, I first came to your channel because you approached the topic of audio production under Linux in a comprehensive and enthusiastic manner that was not present anywhere else. I have a feeling that you will do the same service to whatever topic you feel passionate about whether it be game development, basket weaving, etc.. I just ask that you keep your older videos online, so those who are new to audio work can continue to learn from you.

I think others share in the sentiment that it's not the content that matters here. It's your authenticity and personality that your audience have grown to appreciate you for. Anyone can install Linux, make music, and show others what they've learned, but only unfa can do unfa just right. I hope your health improves and I look forward to following your journey wherever it takes you. Passions evolve with us, and yours has been extraordinary to witness. Cheers!

Sad to hear you have health issues, so here's to a fast recovery! I quite like the idea of a FOSS gamedev direction, especially because I used to be a game dev. But as others have said, health (both physical _and_ mental) come first.

I was really sick... And because I was sick I was able to take time to discover your chanell, watch your videos. I have been wanting to use FOSS on Linux for 10+ years, but I could not convince myself to do it. In the end I wasted my money on Bitwig and tried with Linux/Bitwig. It was fine untill Bitwig continued charging 300€ each year... It demotivated me to the point I stopped producing my music... You inspired me to start again using FOSS software. Ardour maybee was not ready years ago, but now it is. And also Pipewire! THANK YOU!

Discovered you channel just today, sorry to hear you are having health issues. I hope you get better soon and some day will return with more energy. I'm 43 and have been wanting to learn to DJ and make my own music for a long time and maybe soon I finally get my thumb out... I will at least try DJing out. Making music is such a much bigger thing. I enjoyed the song in the end, the video looked like it could have been filmed in Sweden, but I noticed it was in Poland. :) I wish you well and hope to see you sometime in the future!

Haha! FOSS sound design and audio production expert leaves the mic off. Classic. Hey unfa, I'm happy for you to be making the move, whenever that happens, and I believe that it will. And that when it does it will be great. Thanks for all you've done for sound on Linux. It needed help, and you helped make it better. And speaking of "better", I hope that your health gets better, and I wish you well. As far as the FOSS gaming channel, when you do get around to it, I think I might not watch too many of your videos, I'm sorry to say. But you see, there is something wrong with me: when I watch gaming footage, even just now in this video for instance, I get this sensation of a pressure moving through my body and in my head. And then there will often be a sound, like grinding metal x nails on chalkboard, that passes through my head, side to side, one ear then the other, and I will get momentary vertigo almost. I made it from the beginning of the footage in this video (and I knew it would likely be coming) up until the fridge-stacking, which I was curious about, but right about then it hit, and I nearly fell completely out of my chair! LOL you can't make this stuff up. Anyways, best of luck and thanks for everything. Take care unfa.

Hey brother, take care of your health man. it’s the most important thing! Free and open source music, free and open source film making, free & open source gaming are very much related as soon as you hop on the open source band wagon. these are the ways an artist like you will express something and put it out into the world, I definitely see this a natural evolution and would be very curious to see how this channel and you evolve into those various dimensions. Take care and come back when you feel ready! really looking forward to that!

@@unfa00 Just in case: I'm not asking you to continue with the audio content Unfa, you should absolutely do what makes you happy, but gaming? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I'm just not into it. I was although one of those kids who once I got a hold of the Galaga console and threw a quarter in, no other kid got to play (hours) until I milked some 50 free games out of it, and had to go home or have no dinner!😜 I realized how addictive but non productive it was and so had to stay away, or else end up a bum living in a van down by the river. If I were a developer, I would still feel like I am contributing to some peoples lack of self control. I will say this coming from the same mindset (the way I see it): Linux audio production needs way more attention, pushing, and educational support, to get word out that it can become a great, viable alternative to the MAC/ Microsoft empires proprietary garbage! Gaming on the other hand is only suited for those who can easily put it aside and get shit done for themselves, family, friends... and have a real life in general. I was so happy after watching you for the first time helping me with Ardour, especially when I binge watched your earlier content. Sure there are a few other content creators with a few (way outdated) videos on the subject matter, but nowhere near as many channels for Linux audio, as Audio production on OS's made by the axis of evil! I was hoping You would do what so many have done to build their channel: Assemble a team and publish bi-monthly, weekly or the like, with a few different shows, like "Linux Audio news", "Linux audio software spotlight" "Become a Linux Audio production pro!"... that sort of thing. With a team, you can take some of the weight of your back; I have had health issues my whole life, and now as of recently a shit load more in addition, and one person has only one persons capacity, and burn out comes from not rationing the fuel in the first place, or "Burning the candle from both ends"! So again: You do what makes YOU happy, as human sacrifice is not only morally unacceptable, but irrational!😜
