So I’m fluent in English, it being my second language which I grew up speaking to people around me since the age of 5, but truth be told these videos are still extremely entertaining. I love the way you two explain and teach; most of the time when I’ve come across videos teaching something, the people teaching always view the viewers as of less mental capacity in a way, explaining every single detail as if speaking to a newborn, which, in my opinion, more or less condescends the viewer. But you two are great! You make the viewer feel as an equal, which is honestly very heartwarming! I’m so glad I came across this channel, and you two brighten up my day with your videos!

@@SimpleEnglishVideos God night! Of course i dont wanna disturb you, while you sleep please! But i've a good, n 2 bad news please! But at firdt, another good news, i start with bad news: So tha very first, i m afraid of i will b totally blind! Y do i say that? As i say, i feel something shit in my right eye please. Of course i ttied to visut my eyedoctor on wednesday please. But due to da very wrong position of hungarian healthcare, i had 2 waiting for 3 hours please! N it was waiting for nothing unfortunately please! N unfortunately i could have 2go on thursday again, but unfortunately it didn't succesfulll! It's weekend now fuck! Fucking weekend without anything! Ok let's speak about my topic! Tha other bad news: I remember, u saidyou don't speak about politics at all. So it will a little politics now: The good news, i've got a very important answer for me, because i was waiting 4 this answer for many years please! But here is an other bad news again! I'm afraid of i dont believe that answer if i am honest please, because da question, what i've got the answer for, it still lives! So da question was or as i said, it is, y doesnt exist democracy in Hungary? I correct with a definite example please! When gyurcsany is resigned in 2009, in other countries, the main ruler, president or king or queen, calls for a snap election! But in Hungary he doesn't! He tells the assembly that THEY MUST TO ELECT A NEW GOVERNMENT, NOT THE PEOPLE! The answer was: if a government resigns WITH A CONSTRUCTIVE CONFIDENCE VOTING, THE RULER N PRIME MINISTER DONT HAVE 2 CALLING 4 A SNAP ELECTION UNFORTUNATELY! BUT OF COURSE, IF DA PRIME MINISTER SAYS, THE RULER MUST 2 CALLING FOR A SNAP ELECTION! AS I KNOW, BUT SADLY I AM NOT SURE IN THAT, PERHAPS SOME COUNTRIES MUST TO HAVE SNAP ELECTION AUTOMATICALLY.The cunstrictive non confidence voting means that the prime minuster can calling a kind of voting against him or herself from the government. If the government says YES for the constructive non confidence voting, they want that the government itself stays, but they'll change the prime minister. But unfortunately there won't be snap elections, the folk wont elect, but the policians! I think it's disgusting! I think that if a country has democracy THERE MUST 2 B SNAP ELECTION AUTOMATICALLY! I saw a video, when gyurcsany said he wants to calling 4 a contructive non confidence voting against himself. N before the voting, politicians had speech. At first, gyurcsány, he spoke through 10 minutes. And than, bajnai, who was voted the new prime minusrer, he spoke also through ten minutes. After that, da president of the parlament, a woman, katalin silly was tha president of the "house" in that time, she said, ok, and now i "give the words for" the politicians of the opposite please. Three of them sppke: tibor navracsics, peter harrach and zsolt semjén, the president of the kdnp parry spoke All of them with the entire opposition said, they and the nation of course so tha country wants to snap election! But the governor party, mszp didn't! Due to the "special position of Hungary", if the prime minister wants to a constructive non cinfidence against him o herself, n da government votes that, before that, they must to show a prime minister aspirant! Tha saddest thing please: i was looking 4 the answe the question, why cant Hungafy have snap election AT ALL, SO SINCE 1989?! I LOOKED THIS! THE PRESIDENTOF HUNGARY MAY CALLING 4 A SNAP ELECTION, O REPEAT THE PREVIOUS ELECTION IN ONLY 1 CASE! WHEN THE NEW GOVERNMENT HAS THE OATH TAKEN, N THEN THEY MUST TO ELECT THA PRIME MINISTER SELF! BUT IF THE GOVERNMENT SUDDENLY SAYS, O NOW! WE DONT ELECT HIM IOR HER! THEY HAVE A MONTH TO ELECT THE PRIME MINISTER... WHEN IT WONT HAPPEN, THA PRESIDENT OF HUNGARY SAYS OK, THE ELECTION,MUST TO BE REPEATED!

Hello. I enjoyed the story a lot. Let me say that in Spanish we do have the present perfect. It's the same pattern: auxiliary verb= haber+past participle. I have eaten = yo he comido You have spoken = tu has hablado He has arrived = él ha llegado She has helped = ella ha ayudado It has worked = (la cosa o animal) ha trabajado We have studied = (nosotros) hemos estudiado. They have learned = (ellos) han aprendido. About your story I can only say with friends like her, you sure don't need enemies. Keep'em coming. Greetings from Nicaragua👋

you both are perfect like present perfect! it's really useful for me 😁😁🤩🤩 it was a little hard for me to understand the real meaning of present perfect, but this video helped me. I find out what is the real problem: Persian doesn't has perfect present unlike English! it's the reason that I've found: in ancient times (before Islamic period), Old Persian and Middle Persian (Pahlavi) have such a structure with same meaning in English. but the modern Persian which has appeared in late 7 century AD, hasn't had this structure and now, we use 3 different structures for each meanings and it can confuse Persian learners!

Ohhhh my! It's sad and funny at the same time! But I think, there is something weird about such kind of speeches. There is a probability, that the boss or bosses will be astonished or shocked after hearing such extraordinary self-blaming and promote him for a better position. They may think he is being too honest and even exaggerates his fails, because he wants to do more for the company. Anyway, I hope The Management people have a good feel of humor and good mood when Jay comes! :D And thank you for revealing the specifics of using the present perfect tense!

@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruben. The glottal stop is a feature of several British English accents, an it's especially associated with London. Basically we make it by stopping the air flow in our throats to produce the sound. When we make a video about cockney rhyming slang I'll try to demonstrate it and talk about it. It's great that you have found our channel and thanks so much for writing.

Awesome! I lived in England ten years ago for about two years while I was doing a master’s at LJMU. I spent my time over there between Brighton for my IELTS preparation course and then Liverpool for Uni. Having said that, I still have some trace of the scouse dialect and accent 🤣 but now, living in Panama I watch more late talk shows from the US such as Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and James Corden who’s british too. I was wondering if I could help you out with the translation of your videos into Spanish, that would rather be something I will enjoy doing it in my free time. Hi Dawn. On most airlines that fly long distances, from Philadelphia to Europe for example, there a several classes of seats. The cheapest is Economy. Sometimes there's an Economy Plus with more leg room. The next class is Business Class where on long flights your seat may fold back into a bed, and then there's the very luxurious First Class with wider seats and great service. I hope that explains it for you. Thanks for writing to us and thanks for watching.

I have a question! Should I say "Have you been skiing?" Or "Have you gone skiing?", For examples - go surfing, go rock climbing, go camping, etc. My impression is that English speakers never say "Have you gone...?" Why?
@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Great question Renata. If you're talking about life experiences, we normally say 'been', as you have noticed. That's true in British and American English. If we're talking about recent activities, British and American English are a little different. The verb 'go' has two past participles in British English (been and gone) and we'll try to make another video about.

Nice video Would u pls tell me if someone says "He has been a wrestler" then what should we understand? If he is a wrestler now or not? If not then what is the difference between he was a wrestler and He has been a wrestler ??? Pls answer and help me
@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ritu. If someone said 'I've been a wrestler' then I would think that he is no longer a wrestler. But something about his experience in the past is relevant in the present. Perhaps he is explaining why he has big muscles, or why he has a bad back now. This is an example of the present perfect being used to describe past actions with resent importance.

Hi Thomas. This is Jay writing back to you. I'm not sure why you're seeing one of our videos at 360p. We publish at 1920X1080. Could it be that KZbin is reducing the resolution to match the speed of your internet connection? Thanks for writing to us and thanks for watching.

Hi Elisheva. We are also going to be looking at the past continuous soon, so hopefully that will be another past tense for them. Thanks so much for writing. :-)

Hello my lovely teachers can u plz tell me whats the diff between in this two sentences1.she might come late from the work 2.she might have come late from the work..3.i have to get my hair coloured.
@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sanaya. 1. We'd say this as 'She might come home late from work' and it would mean it's a future possibility. 2. We'd say 'She might have come home late form work' and it would mean it was something that possibly happened in the past. Sentence 3 is correct and it's interesting. 'Have to' is not an auxiliary verb here. It's a semi modal and it means 'must' or 'need to'. We could also say 'I have to have my hair coloured' and it would mean the same thing. We use the expression 'have something done' when we are talking about a service someone performs for us. We have made a video about it that you can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f16yZ6eeg9-UjdE

Hallo sir and mom Please tell me is this grammar right? Why dont we talk in english? Was it correct or incorrect? And please correct my grammar because i really don't know what preposition should i put to If in or with or none or should i say why don't we talk english?
@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi THE OLD PATH MCGI. Yes, we could say 'Why don't we talk in English?' The tricky thing about negative questions like this is when we use them and how we answer them. We have made another video about that and here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e4mWkqJjmcuIhKM

Thanks. But I cannot well feel the difference between the present perfect and the past perfect. Unfortunately, most videos explain the difference between the present perfect and the past simple or explain the differences between the present perfect and the past perfect, using only banal examples. Maybe you can make a good video? I'd be very grateful.

Hello my adorable teachers how are you?i need your help Can u plz check this sentences are correct or not 1st sentence is if someone is blocking you from going somewhere by putting their legs in the middle of somewhere so would we say take out your legs from my path nd 2.sentence is if i made someone wait long would i ask like this did i make u wait long??nd how can we ask this question like to make someone wait long in diff ways nd how can we apologise like sorry for keeping you late .3.they are trying to entrape you in their trap or they are just trying to enmesh you 4.shopkeeper always try to entrapped us on their trap so we can buy their product which would be correct??
@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sanaya, This is Jay writing back to you. I'm sure Vicki will have more to say about this, but I can at least comment on a couple of these. In the first sentence, I could say many different things and it depends on the circumstance. For example, in a crowded supermarket, I would most likely say, "Pardon me please." And that's generally all I would need to say if someone was blocking my way. Or, if needed to get to something on a shelf and someone was standing in the way, I might say "Excuse me, I just need to reach that box up there." And most likely the person in my way would move. But in America, the simple "Pardon me" or "Excuse me" is often enough to get someone to move out of your way. In the second case, I would most likely say "So sorry I'm late. Were you waiting long?" In another circumstance, where a customer service representative has put you on hold on the telephone, he or she might return to the phone conversation and say "I apologize for the long hold. Thanks for your patience." I'm not sure about your sentences 3 & 4 so I'll leave that for Vicki. Thanks for writing to us and thanks for watching our videos.
@SimpleEnglishVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sanaya, Vicki here. In situations 3 and 4, the verb 'snare' would be helpful because it would enable you to avoid repeating 'trap'. Snare means to catch something, often an animal, in a trap. We can also ensnare people and things - a slightly more formal way of saying it. So with 3 we might say: They are trying to entrap you. or They are trying to ensnare you in their trap. And 4. The shopkeepers are trying to ensnare us.
