I remember seeing them in Hull and hung around 'till everyone had gone and meeting Dick Taylor and him showing me his 12 string guitare and giving me a quick lesson on it. What a great guy. Thank again Dick

Finally got to see this great band at their farewell gig & never realised what a phenomenal guitarist Dick Taylor is. He’s rarely mentioned when people talk about great guitarists, but his playing that night offered a masterclass in how to play proper R&B.

I saw them at the ABC in Hull in the 60's, I think they were supporting the Beatles. In the 80's met Phil May when he played the Blue Lamp with a group of other 60's legends. Still got The Pretty Things' singles.

The soundtrack and the video don't match - especially Phil's vocals, as well as the dancing continuing after the conclusion of the music. At 00:03 the headstock of a CBS Stratocaster puts in a brief appearance, but further on Dick is seen with his usual (at that time) ES 335 and Brian, with or without attached fan, is playing his Telecaster.

Whats he saying in the final chorus? Because it definitely doesn't sound like he's singing "But until I'll settle down, say I'll be your man" Sounds more like "but until then I says-I-am, say I dig it man don't bring me down" Also in the recording he says "and then to *him* I will be true" lol.

Viv's behind the drums, so this is not 1966, it's an earlier footage.

Such a great document of such a great band. Too bad the camera crew was so clueless as to not get a single good shot of Phil May!?!? WTF?! He was the main reason those girls were swooning - so cool in his US Drinking Team sweatshirt. 😎 They had their opportunity to zoom in on that shit and completely fumbled the ball. Still, glad this document exists, but it could’ve been so much better. Poor girls getting crushed up against the stage, Security had no idea what to do, after pulling that girl off of Brian Pendleton, Security put her back at the front in the crushing section. 🙄

This has to be the WORST BAND EVER. Viv Prince hit his drum so hard that his drumstick flew out of his hand and into the crowd. My friend picked it up and put it down her blouse. Viv refused to carry on until he got his drumstick back. My friend was not willing to give it back. In the end, he went into the dressing room and got another drumstick --- BIG BABY!!!
