Love this man. He was a kind of man that stood out in the PJs not for his race, but his compassion and love for the people of the community.

This is how we should be working! As Christians we should not judge others and exclude them for their actions/ decisions; instead, we should welcome them and guide them to live a life full of God's purpose. Jesus Christ is the one who has brought meaning to our lives, not condemnation! Therefore, we follow that example and fight for the oppressed, the marginalized, the poor, the orphaned, the widowed, the immigrant, and the abused! We cannot keep serving just inside the church! That is mediocracy at its finest! To live our lives at its full potential for God, is to seek out those who are in need and embrace them. "35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’" - Matthew 25:35-40 ESV

I love you! This is exactly what I do my best to be concerned with how I treat others, not so much with how I am treated. Angela, I've lost my child, the panicked, desperation, urgency u feel will dig it's hole, my only hope for u is u can make your heart and soul bigger, so in comparison that hole feels less big. Good Mom, or bad Mom, Mom to Mom Sweetness, that is a hurt so few will ever comprehend, but i know if it be 1 child, or 20 it is not a pain anyone gets to share with you, it has to be felt alone, u can either get tripped up in the hole left in your soul or u can reroute Sis! You're beautiful, and you're going to be incredible for more mother's who are ashamed of themselves for learning as they could've like we all are!

Tom Jackson, I don't understand your logic. To judge the quality of a person and his/her behavior is like judging an apple from a spot on it. Criminal behavior is quite different from a person who inflicts it. The priest does not deny or dismiss criminal behavior; he's working to show gang members there are alternatives to criminal behavior.

Check this out lad, it's very difficult to keep people in prison for Life, this means they're gonna be released into society again but probably much worse than they were before and more sophisticated. When a homie gets released often times violence rises for a number of reasons. Drugs and prostitution are just part of life so you're gonna have to swallow that pill, but these murders occur in an environment where life just isn't that valuable, not to say it should be ignored or condoned but special circumstances require special efforts. America spent decades telling these people they were second class citizens, well that's coming back to bite you or as the great Malcolm X said, "Chickens coming home to roost."

Tom, What happened to you to make you so bitter?
@ST-kr7hz

I think what you are missing is that humans are complicated, and cannot be easily divided into good or bad for simple minds like yours. And most of these people were born into violence and hatred, they didn't even know another way of life. He is healing that trauma and pain instead of increasing it like you would choose to do. But keep talking shit on someone who is doing more good than you could in 10 lifetimes.
