+Woody. One of the reasons Cook never lost a man to scurvy was that he used reverse psychology in getting his men to eat sauerkraut. Sauerkraut is one of the best sources of Vitamin C you can get (and being a preserved food it lasts for absolute ages), but it's an acquired taste to say the least. So he convinced his men that it was usually only a food that the officers were allowed to eat, but offered it to the lower ranks as a sign of respect. The lower ranking crew members then thought they were getting something special so they happily ate the sauerkraut. If he'd made them eat the stuff half of them probably would have refused, but pulling that little trick was a stroke of genius on his part.

One thing I’ve found myself using to debunk the Flat Earth model, is transoceanic navigation. During my time in the Navy, part of my duties involved navigation. While in school learning to use our horribly outdated VMS (Voyage Management System), we learned how to plot routes across the pacific. In the system we used it was easiest to initially plot the route as a Great Circle route. Which is a “straight” line from point A to point B. The system does take into account curvature, however in the older systems, it wasn’t smart enough to calculate the necessary course changes required to maintain a Great Circle route. Ships wouldn’t be able to accurately follow a Great Circle route, because they would need to maintain a constant turn. To correct this, we would take our plotted route, and add waypoints every 100 nautical miles or so along the route. By doing so, we can create shorter headings which mitigate the effects of earth’s curvature, allowing us to drive straight routes, and make a turn at each waypoint to our new heading. Now, the problem with doing this on the flat earth model, is that a route western route across the pacific would require each heading change be made to the right, or north. In reality, if the many routes I have both plotted, and taken across the pacific, when sailing west, we always had to make heading changes to the left, or south, in order to maintain the route. Flat earthers always tell us to accept reality, well the reality is that trans oceanic voyages, do not make sense on your flat earth model.

here's an interesting one: Shouldn't days be shorter on the outer circles of the flat earth? The sun finishes 1 round over the disk over the course of 24h , if distance to the sun is the deciding factor on wether or not it's visible (daytime), then shouldn't Australia's days be significantly shorter, since the sun is passing overhead at a faster speed? especially in the summer, when the Sun is following the outer circle
@Porkey_Minch4 жыл бұрын
True, I hadn't even thought about that.
@TexMex4214 жыл бұрын
You are thinking of the sun as a burning ball of gas sending light in every direction. You must think of the sun as a movie or slide projector sending light in a pattern necessary to light the flat earth exactly as if the earth were a ball itself. The south area, being much bigger in area gets a much bigger projection of light during it's summer.

@@brucetucker4847 Well considering they have made video of what I described, 5:42 I think you can get an answer from them. They don't seem shy. They essentially just alter their model into what is needed to answer your question.The new model then fails other questions, but you just alter it again. It has been suggested that every "place" sees a different sun, and that the southern hemisphere actually does not exist. Again, they seem like they will answer anything.

@@TexMex421 I have never seen any FE model, 3D or otherwise, that showed a sunlight pattern that lit > 50% of the southern hemisphere while leaving the north pole in darkness. I have seen the claims that every human being sees his or her own unique personal sun, and that the southern hemisphere doesn't exist, but those are so patently idiotic that most FEers steer well clear of them and just refuse to acknowledge that the question was asked. I have asked the question about the sunlight pattern dozens of times and not once has any FEer ever responded in any way, not even with a threat or insult.

Hence globe earth fails it seems. My message to him: Do you even know what dark matter is? First do you even know how to solve the Schrodinger equation for a Hydrogen atom? Without knowing basics just don’t jump on to things you cannot even comprehend.

Reply from @Gleem "Do you even know what dark matter is" Nope nobody does as its a placeholder label for something which they do not have a clue about same as dark energy! " First do you even know how to solve the Schrodinger equation for a Hydrogen atom?" Depends, I mean I would immediate turn to Dirac's Solution as Paul is my fav scientist. What does QED have to do with gravity and dark matter? "Without knowing basics just don’t jump on to things you cannot even comprehend. " Cool story bro now can you tell all of your friends in here then as I know about this complex stuff as well as the easy stuff which allows me to ask you questions you cannot answer: 1/. THE GLOBE DOES NOT HAVE A WORKING MODEL! = Show me a working scientific globe earth model WITHOUT the need for 2 dark sky daddies and broken physics on the sun = YOU CANT 2/. GRAVITY MUST NOT BE CORRECT! = Show me a working scientific theory of gravity at the particle scale or cosmic scale? = YOU CANT 3/. YOU CANNOT USE THE ANGULAR SIZE FORMULA / SMALL ANGLE APPROXIMATION! = Show me a working perspective model as NASA state there is not one in February 2020 = YOU CANT 4/. YOU HAVE NOT DEBUNKED A THING ON THE FLAT EARTH MODEL AS YOU HAVE NOT TESTED IT = All your "flat earth models" are designed to fail, show me one which accounts for perspective and refraction being the imaginary curve which you have tested? = YOU CANT
@souravsuresh27664 жыл бұрын
@Gleem Wrong. ‘You’ don’t know what dark matter is. Many physicists do. I’m pretty sure you can’t solve it (forget about solving, I don’t even think you understand). Paul is your favourite scientist? Do you know or understand anything about his work? And it’s not QED, it’s Quantum Mechanics. It’s very very evident that you don’t know anything and you act as if you do. Looks like you are just a phoney. What do you mean by what Quantum Mechanics has anything to do with gravity and dark matter?? It’s basics and it’s used everywhere in the road to higher physics. Explaining physics to a child who doesn’t know to add numbers is futile. And I don’t see any point in proving or disproving anything to you if you don’t even know basic physics. “complex stuff”?? What complex stuff are you talking about? If you feel that solving Schrödinger eqn for Hydrogen-like atoms is complex, then I think it’s very clear that you aren’t smart enough to talk physics for proving something.

One question about flat earth that's always baffled me is the fact that they never explain why exactly the sun travels in this circular motion... like what forces are at play? Why is it bound to circular motion? What is keeping it from moving in a straight line? They just seem to say "it moves in a circle above the plane" and then it never dawns on them that thats a weird physical motion that needs explaining
