@@privacylawyer the "indefinite postponement" of the PRA caused CASL compliance to quietly slip off the priority lists of most Canadian organizations back in June 2017. Some of them talk a good compliance program but few if any are actually CASL compliant (tracking and proving all forms of consent, documented policies and procedures, managing 1-to-1 emails, etc, etc. I have certainly noticed an increase in spam in my inbox in the past couple of years. Why pass a law you are not willing to enforce? ISED needs to allow the PRA to come into force. It is the only form of enforcement businesses fear (they know they have abetter shot of winning the lottery AND getting hit by lightning on the same day than getting fined by the CRTC under CASL).
