Actually the first cat video (cat film) was made in 1894 by Étienne-Jules Marey. It's called "Falling Cat". EDIT: But after seeing this I have to admit that "Falling Cat" is nothing in comparison to "The Private Life of a Cat".

I spent my entire childhood, in the 60s, experiencing the same scenes... There were always cats, a dozen or so, in the bungalow where my family lived, the cats could give birth like in this film, in a cardboard box, near the coal-fired boiler, nice and warm.... sometimes my sister and I would help lift the kittens' eyelids if they didn't do it naturally, delicately, with absorbent cotton and saline solution... the other cats slept with us, on and in our beds, sometimes in the morning they weren't the same as the day before..... On one occasion, our 5 female cats had a litter of 5 kittens! and there were 25 little cats running and meowing in our garden all Spring, under the benevolent ragrd of our dog, dandy, who also acted as babysitter for his cat friends... A wonderful childhood, full of love between humans and animals... They taught me and offered me a lot.....

In a way I wish they wouldn't use music which is so obviously modern while preserving an old film. Pleasant though this 1980s-style ambient music is, it does create something 'other' than what it used to be.

The music is lovely but unfortunately it does create something 'contemporary' when they use something modern. This is a 1940s film after all. Really we have to question what we're doing superimposing an 80s thing on top....it's like putting wheels on antique furniture. And now there's flipping drums!! H'mm definitely not in favour.

однажды я нашла запись вк с скринами кошки 'she' и кота 'he', а потом кадр где он подошёл к ней и начал вылизывать голову кошки я сделала репост. она провисела несколько месяцев, я иногда заходила на свою страницу и пролистывала до этой записи, и я зашла на оригинальную запись и в комментарии, я узнала что это фильм в ту ночь мне было плохо, я случайно нажала и фильм начался, я бы отложила его на потом и наверное бы забыла и не посмотрела никогда, но я осталась фотографии еще до того как я узнала что это фильм тронули меня, они были нежными с лаской, чувственными, душевными и тёплыми. я очень сильно люблю кошек. после присмотра мне стало немного лучше, я легла спать в четыре ночи, или почти в пять, на утро мне было плохо и я не пошла на учёбу, это было вчера. сейчас у меня температура мне не очень хорошо, эта музыка меня успокаивает, история очень трогательная, такая де тёплая и приятная как все кадры оттуда иногда меня пугает мысли, о том что кошка и кот из произведения уже умерли, в лучшем случае от старости. и котята давно выросли, и наверное тоже уже покойные. моя покойная кошка прожила 18 лет, и умерла в 18 году, эти кошки чем-то очень близки ей, я вспоминаю о ней когда смотрю на них. она была черная, полностью, и ее звали кисой, иногда мы звали ее чернушкой, у нее были жёлтые глаза, киса я люблю тебя и скучаю я хочу сказать спасибо за этот фильм, он мой любимый
